Good morning partners, friends and well-wishers. Happy Thursday!

Remember the Promise

Today's Scripture ....But the people grew impatient with the long journey, and they began to speak against God and Moses. "Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die in the wilderness?" they complained. "There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!" (Numbers 21:4-5, NLT)

Today's Word
Do you remember the story when God took the Israelites out of slavery, in Egypt, towards the Promised Land? God took them through the wilderness to test their faith in Him. Today's Scripture highlights how they got impatient, murmured, and complained against God and Moses because the journey was too long. They were comparing what they had in Egypt to what they were having in the wilderness. They surely displeased God that He had to punish them, and they failed to see the Promise Land, except those who never came out of Egypt but who were born during the journey.

Are you going through a wilderness experience? Do not panic. You will see the promises of God once you demonstrate patience and strong faith in Him. It may seem too long to wait, but do not get discouraged. Do not complain or murmur. Focus on the promise. God is not slack concerning His promises. The hardships you may be facing now are not to harm you. Be patient, stay in faith, resist temptation, focus on the promises, and aim to receive what God has in store for those whose walk is blameless. Losing out on God's promises is not an option. You have come too far to go back to where God took you from.

Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that You are faithful and true. You promise many good things for us that will happen on Your timing. I humble myself as I face these difficult times so that You, my Father, will be pleased and reward me accordingly. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

*Good morning partners, friends and well-wishers. Happy Wednesday!*

*The Word of God*

*TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:*

_But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time….._
*Jude 17-18*

*TODAY'S WORD:*

Would you devote your life to studying a book you didn’t believe to be reliable? Rudolf Bultmann, a German New Testament scholar, argued for “demythologizing” the New Testament. He believed it could speak to us existentially but shouldn’t be taken historically. Bultmann is an example of someone who poured himself into Bible study but whose heart wasn’t open to the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Academia is filled with such people today. So are pulpits.

Only those who truly know the Lord can understand His message. When we have questions and concerns of the heart, we need to take counsel from those who also know the Lord. Guard against the influence of liberal scholars and unbelieving teachers. The book of Jude warns against “certain individuals” who “have secretly slipped in among you” (Jude 4, NIV).

Even when seeking Christian counsel, go to those who truly know and love God’s Word. Take time to identify solid Christians in your life you can turn to when you need godly advice.

We call this book—and only this book—the Word of God. That is why it has supreme authority for our lives.

*PRAYER FOR TODAY:*

*Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word, a living and active beacon of truth in my life. Thank You that Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Lord, forgive me for the times I allow the distractions of life to pull me away from spending time in Your presence. I ask that You give me a deep unquenchable hunger to read, understand, and meditate on the scriptures day and night. Open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things from Your law. Grant me the wisdom to discern Your truth and the courage to apply it to my daily life. When I am weary, let Your Word bring comfort, when I am confused, let it give direction, and when I face temptation, let it be the sword of the Spirit that guards my mind. May Your Word dwell richly in me, transforming my thoughts, purifying my intentions, and shaping my character to reflect Your love. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.*

*Caltrops*

*TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:*

_And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit….._
*Acts 13:52*

*TODAY'S WORD:*

Earlier this year in Michigan the North Shore Police Department warned motorists that someone was placing caltrops on the highways. These are small, sharp objects meant to puncture and deflate car tires. As we all know, tires need to be filled with air; they are useless when flat.

The devil is constantly throwing caltrops in our pathway. We’re to be filled with the Spirit, but he endeavors to deflate us. Have you felt deflated recently? The normal and victorious Christian experience means being filled with the Spirit. When you’re filled with the Spirit of God, your life will be different. You will have a song in your heart, a spirit of thanksgiving in your personality, and a yearning to bless others (Ephesians 5:18-21). You’ll also have a contagious motivation to share the Word of God with others (Acts 4:31).

Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your steps as you choose to have a positive influence on others. Open your life fully to the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to keep you inflated and filled with His Spirit today.

*The Spirit-filled life is not a deluxe edition of Christianity. It is part and parcel of the total plan of God for His people.*

*PRAYER FOR TODAY:*

*Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit that lives within me. Thank You that He is my shield and guide. Just as I cannot live without physical breath, I know I cannot thrive without Your living presence in my life. Search my heart and remove anything that creates a barrier between us. Forgive me for the moments I rely on my own strength and wisdom instead of Yours. I surrender my plans, my thoughts, and my decisions into Your hands. Saturate my soul with Your love, joy, and peace. Give me the courage to walk in patience, kindness, and self-control, allowing Your fruit to overflow into every relationship I have. When I am weak, fill me with Your supernatural power to overcome temptation and endure every trial. Guide my feet and lead me into all truth. Let my life be a reflection of Your grace, so that others may see You working through me. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.*

*The Spirit of Wisdom*

*TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:*

_And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit. …_*Ephesians 5:18*

*TODAY'S WORD:*

When God gave Moses instructions for building the tabernacle, He appointed a man named Bezalel to be master craftsman for the project. God “filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship” (Exodus 31:2-3). The apostle Paul picked up on the connection between wisdom and being filled with the Spirit in Ephesians 5:15-18.

Paul cautioned the Ephesians about being foolish and wasting the opportunities of living for God. He equated being wise with understanding and carrying out God’s will, exhorting them not to be “drunk with wine” but to “be filled with the Spirit.” Just as a master craftsman could not carry out his tasks if he was drunk with wine, so the Christian cannot carry out God’s will by living a wasteful and uncontrolled life. Part of the fruit of the Spirit is self-control (Galatians 5:23).

Imagine yourself as a master craftsman, constructing a life that is pleasing to the Lord and fruitful in His work. Purpose each day to be filled with the Spirit so that your gifts and talents are not wasted.

*The more we are filled with the Holy Spirit, the more we shall glorify the Lord Jesus.*

*PRAYER FOR TODAY:*

*Father, I come before You with a heart that longs to honor Your name. Thank You for Your grace, mercy, and the gift of life. I pray that You would guide my steps and align my desires with Your perfect will. Please give me the wisdom to recognize Your path and the courage to follow it, even when it is difficult. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that my words, thoughts, and actions may be a true reflection of Your love to everyone I meet. Help me to bear fruit in every good work and to grow in the knowledge of Your goodness. When I face temptations or struggles, be my strength and my shield. Transform my mind and renew my spirit daily, so that I may live a life that is pleasing and acceptable to You. Thank You Lord for Your unfailing love and for being the center of my life. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.*

*Keep the Door Closed*

*TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:*

_Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?_
*1 Corinthians 6:19, NIV*

*TODAY’S WORD:*

We all face difficulties. Sickness, opposition, and betrayals may come, but they don’t have to stay. When they knock, you don’t have to answer the door. Don’t open it up and say, “I knew you’d show up. Come on in. Let me get you a cup of coffee.” No, you can say, “No, thanks. You’re not welcome here.” Don’t accept it. Don’t learn to live with it. Quit calling it “my sickness,” “my anxiety,” “my dysfunction,” “my addiction.” None of that is yours. None of it belongs to you. It’s on foreign territory. Your body is a temple of the Most High God. Sickness doesn’t belong in your temple. Depression doesn’t belong in your temple. Fear, addiction, and lack don’t belong there. Stand firm and keep that door closed. Yes, negative things may come. I’m not asking you to act as though they are not real. But you don’t have to accept them in your mind. Don’t let whatever it is become permanent, thinking it’s always going to be that way. See it as temporary. This too shall pass.

*PRAYER FOR TODAY:*

*Father, Thank You for Your love, guidance, and countless blessings. Thank You for the strength to face each day, the people You have placed in my life, and the grace You show me even when I fall short. Fill my heart with gratitude and help me always remember Your goodness. Thank You that I belong to You, that I am a temple of the Most High God. Thank You that I can keep the door of my life shut to all the negatives that want to attach to me as though they belong to me. I am casting any anxiety and sickness away and calling on You for deliverance. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.*

*Beneficial Words*

*TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:*

_Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen._
*Ephesians 4:29, NIV*

*TODAY’S WORD:*

Whether it’s your family members or any of the other people in your life, they’re going to make mistakes, say things they shouldn’t, or may do things that are wrong and bring embarrassment. It’s tempting to gossip or talk disparagingly about them. But God wants you to protect their reputation. There may be things said or done behind closed doors, but outside you need to be their biggest cheerleader. Don’t call your friends and tell all the negative things about your brother or coworker. Don’t tell others what you know is going to make someone look bad. While they may not deserve it, you need to honor your family members and others in front of other people. You may have a private disagreement, but don’t let it go public.

It’s always good to ask yourself: Will what I’m about to say benefit others? Is it going to build them up, make them look better? Or is it going to tear them down, give them less credibility, or poison their reputation? Protect those whom God has given you by speaking beneficial words.

*PRAYER FOR TODAY:*

*Father, thank You for another beautiful sunrise. Thank You for Your grace which is every breath I take. Lord, no matter what I face today with Your help, I know I will be able to survive, overcome and win. I thank You also for the strength and energy You lend to support me, Your wisdom that will guide me and Your peace that will Calm me. May this day be filled with blessings, miracles, and answered prayers. Thank You that You have given me the gift of speaking words that are wholesome and beneficial. Help me pay attention to what I’m actually saying to others. I commit myself to taming my tongue and using my words to bring encouragement and build others up. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.*

*How Faith Comes*

*TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:*

_Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ…._
*Romans 10:17, NIV*

*TODAY'S WORD:*

The book of Acts illustrates the truths expressed by the apostles in their letters to the churches. One example is how Acts 14:8-10 illustrates the truth taught in Romans 10:17.

In Romans 10, Paul says Israel needs someone to preach the Gospel to them. He then says that “faith comes from hearing ... the word of Christ.” “Word of Christ” can mean either the word(s) spoken by Christ as repeated by a preacher or words spoken about Christ by a preacher. The effect is the same—anyone preaching about Christ will no doubt quote some of Christ’s words. And those words produce faith. That’s what happened when Paul was in Lystra. A man who was crippled from birth, who had never walked, was listening to Paul preach. Paul looked at the man and saw “that he had faith to be healed” and told him to stand up—and he did (Acts 14:8-10)! The words of/about Jesus created faith in this man.

Do you need faith or know someone else who needs faith? Meditate on “the word of Christ” and trust God that faith will come.

*Faith rests on the naked Word of God. That Word believed gives full assurance.*

*PRAYER FOR TODAY:*

*Father, I come before You acknowledging my need for Your strength and guidance. Sometimes the world around me feels uncertain, and I struggle to see the path ahead. Forgive me for the moments I give in to worry, try to control my own circumstances, or rely on my own limited understanding. Even when Your hand seems hidden or Your timing leaves me confused, I know that Your heart for me is always good. Help me to walk by faith and not by sight. Anchor my soul in Your promises, reminding me that You see the bigger picture and are working all things together for my ultimate good. When doubt creeps in, quiet my anxious mind and replace my fears with Your perfect peace. When my faith falters, remind me of all the times You have carried me through before. Fill me with the supernatural courage to take the next step in faith. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.*
