During our 5th Sunday service we received an impactful and encouraging word reminding us to “Simply Endure” & “Trust the Process”
First Speaker: Minister Starr Holder
Scripture: II Timothy 2:1-3, KJV
Subject: Simply Endure
• The Power of Grace: We cannot live a righteous life or fulfill our purpose through our own strength. It is only through God's grace, strength, and power that we can stay strong.
• A Cloud of Witnesses: We are surrounded by a history of faithful leaders and loved ones who have shown us what God’s strength looks like. Let's not cast away the values and teachings passed down to us.
• Called to Endure: True believers are called to endure hardship as good soldiers of Christ. To endure means to remain steadfast, to persevere, and to stay faithful through trials, sickness, and opposition without giving up.
• Traits of a Good Soldier:
o Obedience: A good soldier completely obeys their commanding officer. For us, that is Jesus Christ.
o Commitment: We must be fully committed in season and out of season, through the highs and the lows.
• Final Encouragement: The race isn't given to the swift or the strong, but to those who endure to the end. God knows the path you are taking, and He will see you through it!
Second Speaker: Deacon Jeffrey Deas
Scripture: John 5:3-7, ERV
Subject: Trust the Process
• Trust the Process: The man spent 38 years waiting by the pool, knowing that the water had the power to heal him, yet he struggled to believe he could actually get in. Sometimes the process takes longer than we expect, but we must keep trusting God.
• Moving Past Excuses: When Jesus asked the man if he wanted to be healed, the man immediately offered excuses about why he couldn't get into the water. In our own lives, we must stop making excuses, stop blaming our surroundings, and lean entirely on faith.
• The Power of a Word: Jesus didn't physically drop the man into the pool; He simply gave him a command: "Rise, take up your bed, and walk." God's deliverance and blessings don't always come in the grand strategy we expect—sometimes it just takes a single word.
• Action Required: Miracles happen as quickly as it takes to obey. We have to get up from a state of doing nothing, step into what we are praying for, and actively walk in faith.
