Faith Lutheran Church, Fort Lauderdale, FL Pastor Dallas Gibson & his wife started the church on July 3rd, 1955 with about 25 people. The school closed in June 2017. May Faith be a light in your life!

Faith Lutheran Church's last worship service was on January 15th, 2023. Thank you to all who made Faith the wonderful place it was! Faith Lutheran Church was initially started in 1955 by Dallas and Susan Gibson with about 30 - 40 members brought from Trinity Lutheran Church. Faith is a daughter of Trinity in this sense. Dallas Gibson thought that the area, which at the time was the furthest wester

n area of Fort Lauderdale, needed a new Church. Faith Lutheran was dedicated on July 3rd, 1955, and is still a place of worship and love today. Dallas Gibson called Faith, the "Church of the Open Door". Even though Dallas and Susan are no longer with us, their love still thrives. Frank Ahrens was Principal & Teacher at Faith from 1990 to 2014, and he is still filling the role of pastor to this day. Now Faith Lutheran School is closing after June 2017. Grace Lutheran of Broward, the Haitian church that bought the property will be leasing the school property to another Christian school. Faith Lutheran Church closed it's doors after January 15th, 2023. There are at least 2 other Haitian churches worshiping on the property as well. Faith thanks everyone who has helped it continue towards it's 67th year! We thank everyone who was part of Faith Fort Lauderdale, whether students, parents, teachers, staff, and church members! May God bless us everyone!

Faith Lutheran Church was initially started in 1955 by Dallas and Susan Gibson with about 30 - 40 members brought from Trinity Lutheran Church. Faith is a daughter of Trinity in this sense. Dallas Gibson thought that the area, which at the time was the furthest western area of Fort Lauderdale, needed a new Church. Faith Lutheran was dedicated on July 3rd, 1955, and is still a place of worship and love today. Dallas Gibson called Faith, the "Church of the Open Door". Even though Dallas and Susan are no longer with us, their love still thrives. Frank Ahrens was Principal & Teacher at Faith from 1990 to 2014, and he is still filling the role of worship leader to this day.

If you have photos from your time at Faith or class photos, please post them on this page. There are plenty of Faith Alumni out there still. Also, posting stories or tidbits from the past would be wonderful to read as well.

Now Faith Lutheran School has closed since June 2017. Grace Lutheran, the Haitian church that bought the property are leasing the school property to another Christian school, who have already made improvements, including a fence around the entire property & repainting the blacktop/basketball court.

Faith Lutheran Church still worships on Sundays at 9:00AM every Sunday, with the exception of hurricanes & serious damage from hurricanes, and afterwards we have Coffee & Calories next to the kitchen area. Adult Bible Study takes place most Sunday’s at 10:30AM; please ask Frank Ahrens about where, as he leads it. Grace Lutheran Church meets at 10:00AM in the main church and there is at least 1 other Haitian church currently worshiping on the property on Sundays as well.
