CGC Celebrate Recovery Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

We had a great night at Celebrate Recovery this week as we talked about RELAPSE — not just how relapse happens, but how we can recognize the drift before it carries us further than we wanted to go.

Several people shared that there was a lot of content to take in, so I put together a simple handout with the main teaching points, Scripture references, and practical reminders from the lesson.

The handout covers:

* How relapse often begins before the visible fall
* Why renewing our minds with God’s Word matters
* The RELAPSE acrostic from the lesson
* What to do if we stumble
* Why shame tells us to hide, but grace calls us home

You can view or download the handout here:

Recovery is not about living scared.
It is about living awake — noticing the drift, bringing it honestly to God, and staying connected before old patterns pull us back.

You’re not alone, and we’re grateful to walk this road together.

💚 Mental Health Monday / Mental Health Awareness Month Kickoff 💚

Week 1: Awareness That Leads to Action

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. But awareness alone doesn’t change anything. Action does.

Awareness says:
“I see the struggle”
Action says:
“I’m going to do something about it”

That doesn’t mean doing everything at once.
It means choosing one step toward healing.

This month, that might look like:
• finally reaching out to a Sponsor
• reconnecting with an Accountability Partner
• attending a meeting you’ve been avoiding
• being honest about where you actually are mentally
• asking for help instead of pushing through alone

You don’t have to fix your whole life this month.
One honest step toward what needs care is enough.

Healing doesn’t happen all at once
It happens one honest decision at a time

✨ Try this today:
Choose one action that supports your mental health and follow through on it
Not perfectly.
Just intentionally.

💬 Let’s talk:
What is one action you’re committing to this month for your mental health?

Due to severe road conditions reported by ODOT and continued freezing temperatures expected, we’ve decided not to meet in person for Celebrate Recovery tomorrow evening (Jan 26).

Your safety matters to us, and we don’t want anyone feeling pressure to travel in unsafe conditions.

We’ll look forward to being back together next week, and we’re grateful for your understanding.

From the volunteers of CGC’s Celebrate Recovery ministry, we want to wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Our recent Christmas Fellowship reminded us of something many of us quietly need to hear: we are not meant to walk through life alone.

We recently joined together for a night filled with laughter, shared moments, and the kind of connection that happens when people are simply allowed to be where they are. In those moments, the truth felt clear—God is with us, and we don’t have to carry life by ourselves. We were made for connection, with Him and with each other.

If you’re part of our Celebrate Recovery community, we’re grateful for you. And if you’re seeing this and wondering whether a place like this could be for you, know this: there is room. You don’t have to have it all together to belong.

We’re thankful for nights like this and for the people who make them possible.
