UMC Camp Okoboji 2026 is in the books. We’re on our way home. Next week we’ll help with Vacation Bible Scool, next weekend our worship will be led by Trinity children and youth, and July 29th the youth will cook and serve the evening meal at The Beacon of Hope. Trinity UMC Youth served the City of Fort Dodge this week and they did so joyfully!
Today people who attended Lunch on Central repeatedly commented on how joyful and helpful our youth were as they held signs and danced, collected donations and sang, and interacted with people who recognized us from work we’d done earlier in the week.
On our way to Lunch on Central, we dropped off a sleeping mat for a man at the SALT Center. Then we sold the desserts we made yesterday and raised $250 for our camp/mission scholarship fund.
After returning our supplies to the church, we went back to Second Chance Thrift Shop to do a little shopping to benefit Beacon of Hope.
Thank you to all the community leaders, the hospitality of the Webster County Sheriff’s Department and Fort Dodge Police Department. Thank you Jerry Beck for helping us plan our Thursday outing. Thank you, Lilly Johnson and Anna Jones for your loving service to our youth and children this week!

Day For of Mission Possible was great! We hope to see our church friends tomorrow at Lunch on Central because the Trinity UMC Youth Group will be there selling the yummy desserts we made today: indulgent Cereal Peanut Bars, Puppy Chow, and Fresh Fruit Cups. All for a free will donation to our youth fund.

This afternoon we met with Melanie Fierke, Executive Director of The Lord’s Cupboard and Jerry Beck, Lords Cupboard Board Member and Trinity UMC member. While at the pantry, we filled boxes with food and then prepared plastic bags for volunteers who will do more tomorrow. And thank you, Melanie, for the ice cream!
