3 of us decided to make a trek to the boundary waters with our tour guide, Mike Landwehr. The 5 day expedition included camping, fishing, canoeing, rosary, Bible discussions, meeting Father Mike Schmitz (we are all fanboys), and so much more. It was such a great time and Mike knows his stuff. Jeremiah can cook great meals on the cast iron skillet, Chris isn’t afraid to try new things (first time in a canoe), Mike is a great teacher, and I, Brandon, learned that you can in fact tip a canoe over in 4” of water.

We hope to be able to do more activities like this in the future. Men being men along with making plenty of time for Jesus. Thanks again Mike for leading the trip! Please feel free to ask the guys about the trip. We have plenty of funny stories.

For those that haven't given up social media for Lent...you can still join us for Exodus Lent! I have heard from many of you that have conflicts on Tuesdays after Holy Hour, so we will be adding time to meet after Stations Of The Cross on Friday nights if that fits into schedules better.

Any questions, or to confirm you will be joining us Friday, please reply here or message Dcn Jeff at 515-351-9656.

Ever have trouble "giving up" something for Lent? Despite your best intentions on Ash Wednesday, do you find yourself drifting a couple weeks in? Really wanted to partake in the structure of Exodus 90, but couldn't stomach taking cold showers for 3 months?

Well, luckily - there is Exodus For Lent!

So what is Exodus Lent? Well, it isn't "Exodus 90 Lite", but the "rules" are definitely relaxed. We will still be using the same principles of prayer and asceticism in order to have a more structured and effective season of Lent in preparation for the coming of Easter.

If you have any questions or are interested in adding some structure to your Lent and sharing the journey with other parish brothers, join us tonight and every Tuesday after Holy Hour (6:10 PM) in the church conference room (or parlor) for Exodus Lent!

PS - We don't take attendance...so if you can't join us tonight in person, just join the "HTP Exodus for Lent" fraternity through the Exodus 90 app, and participate however your schedule will allow!

Questions or need help joining the app? Call or text Deacon Jeff at 515-351-9656

Yesterday afternoon we had a gathering which started off by blessing the school with Father Ross. Next was the seafood boil, many desserts, drinks, and fellowship. Thank you to those who helped put this on, donate desserts, and for the men who attended.

Hey guys! As the new year approaches and Christmas is behind us, it is now time to look forward to the various things we have going on in the Men's Ministry as we prepare for Lent and Easter this winter.

We will be having a soup supper on January 8th at 5 PM in the Narthex for fellowship and to kick off our programs (more info on this will come). Exodus 90 will begin Jan 9th, and we will be looking for some guys that have been through it to step up and be group leaders. We will then kick off the second "semester" of TMIY starting Jan 14th.

Finally, I am exited to announce that we will be starting a small group theology for beginners discussion. My goal will be to meet every 2-3 weeks after Holy Hour on Tuesday, discussing the assigned reading using the "Theology For Beginners" by Frank Sneed book that I have posted below. If you have any interest at all in this please post it here or email [email protected] with any questions.

Thanks fellas, and hope to see you Jan 8th!
