The Place of Brokenness in the Life of the Believer by Damian Kyle
Not only is God interested in brokenness in the eyes of the public, but it is just as important in our private lives.
Taking a closer look at Psalm 51, we can see what brokenness produces in our lives:
Psalm 51: 1 (NKJV) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.
(1) Brokenness brings us back to grace and gives us a fresh appreciation for God’s grace.
Remember, David committed adultery & murder for which there was no sacrifice to cover his sin.
He was deserving of death, he had no hope in the law, he could ONLY hope on God’s grace, forgiveness & loving-kindness (tender-mercies).
