Everything rises and falls on leadership. But what makes a truly healthy leader in the church?

This week we dove deep into 1 Timothy 5, exploring God's design for church leadership. The truth is simple yet profound: healthy churches are led by healthy leaders who demonstrate character, integrity, and a long obedience in the same direction. Paul reminds us that leaders worthy of honor are those who labor faithfully in preaching and teaching, living above reproach not just in the pulpit but in every area of life.

Before promoting anyone to leadership, we must observe their character over time. It's not about charisma or gifting alone—it's about watching someone practice what they'll eventually preach. The gospel transforms us, and that transformation should be evident in how leaders shepherd God's flock with humility, not for personal gain but as examples to follow.

As we seek our next pastor, pray for wisdom and discernment. May we be a church that raises up and honors godly leaders who fear God more than man.

What does a healthy church look like? It starts with healthy families built on healthy disciples.

This Mother's Day, we explored 1 Timothy 5 and discovered a powerful truth: the Christian family should look radically different because we've been transformed by the gospel. From caring for widows to honoring our parents, from raising children to serving our church family—these aren't just good ideas, they're expressions of genuine faith.

Paul reminds us that "if anyone does not provide for his relatives and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" (1 Timothy 5:8). Strong words, but they reveal something beautiful: God has provided for you so you can provide for others.

Let's be a church that cherishes motherhood, honors family, and cares for those who cannot care for themselves. When you serve your family, you serve the kingdom of God.
