It's been a long time since we've met together! Tonight, we will host a Super Bowl alternative, as we watch the second installment of the Chronicles of Narnia, starting at 5PM. Next week, we will pause again for the four-day weekend. We'll be back together like normal the following weekend, February 22nd, as we study about Jesus teaching His disciples to pray. We hope to see you there!

This week at YOC, we’ll talk about Jesus’ parable of the sower—the farmer who scattered seed on different kinds of ground. Some seed was eaten by birds, some withered, some was choked by weeds, and some grew strong and produced fruit.

Jesus explained that the seed is God’s Word, and the soil represents our hearts. When we listen, believe, and live out what God says, our lives grow strong and fruitful.

Family Discussion Questions:

What do you think it means to have a “good and noble heart” that listens to God’s Word?

Which type of soil best describes your heart right now—and why?

What helps your faith grow deeper roots during the week?

Faith Challenge:

Choose one way this week to “water the seed” of God’s Word—like praying together, reading a short passage as a family, or practicing one truth you learned at YOC.

This week at YOC, we’ll read about the woman who anointed Jesus’ feet with her tears and perfume. She wasn’t perfect—everyone knew her past—but she came to Jesus with love, humility, and repentance.
While others judged her, Jesus saw her heart. He told her, “Your sins are forgiven… Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” This story reminds us that no one is too far from God’s grace, and the deeper our understanding of forgiveness, the greater our love for Jesus becomes.

Family Discussion Questions:

How did the woman show her love and gratitude to Jesus?

What can we learn from the way Jesus treated her?

Why do you think understanding forgiveness helps us love God more?

Faith Challenge:

Take time this week to thank Jesus for His forgiveness—and show that same grace to someone else.

This week at YOC, we will talk about the Roman centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant. Even though he was a man of power, he recognized Jesus’ greater authority. He believed Jesus could heal just by speaking the word—and that kind of faith amazed Jesus!

The story reminds us that real faith isn’t about seeing proof or having control—it’s about trusting Jesus completely.

Family Discussion Questions:

Why do you think Jesus was amazed by the centurion’s faith?

What does it look like to trust Jesus even when we can’t see the outcome?

How can our family show faith in everyday situations this week?

Faith Challenge:

Talk together about one area where your family can “trust Jesus with just a word”—a situation where you can pray and believe He’s already at work.
