This is what it means to follow Christ — to love without calculation, without condition, without needing to know whether the person before us “deserves” it. Because mercy, by definition, cannot be earned.

The world tells us to measure love — to offer it when it feels safe, reciprocated, or justified. But the Gospel calls us to something far more daring. It calls us to love the undeserving, to show kindness to the difficult, to extend grace to the ones who would never return it. This is not sentimentality — it’s discipleship. It’s the Cross lived out in daily life.

Christ’s love never paused to ask if we were worthy. He loved us first, and completely — when we were broken, when we were blind, when we were still turning away. That same love is what we are asked to carry into the world: a love that refuses to be reduced by bitterness, ideology, or fear.

To love like Christ is to stand in the tension — to hold truth and mercy together, to choose compassion when it costs something, to see the image of God even in those who cannot see it in themselves. This is what makes love redemptive. This is what transforms the world. 🌿

May we love with the kind of mercy that asks no questions and keeps no score — because that is the mercy that saved us. 💛
