"God is glorified in our lives when our lives are lived as if HE is the weightiest thing in our life. Not our spouse, not our children, not our comfort, not our wealth or security, not our fear of others...God."

Consider your ways.

“Thus says the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways. Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may be glorified, says the LORD. You looked for much, and behold, it came to little. And when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? declares the LORD of hosts. Because of my house that lies in ruins, while each of you busies himself with his own house.” — Haggai 1:7–9

What are the consequences of neglecting God?

We were made in the image of God and ultimately made for God. When we look to other things to satisfy what only He can satisfy, we may find temporary pleasure or security, but we will always be left wanting. God loves us enough to confront our misplaced priorities and draw us back to Himself.

And the good news is that we don't have to keep searching. In Christ, we are brought back to God, the One we were made for.

So what are we seeking first?

Mosaic is a new church learning together what it might look like to be a church of house churches. We are a people who want to see a church that more resembles the first churches - simple Sunday gatherings and small, diverse discipleship communities throughout a region.

This Sunday, we are continuing our walk through Haggai. You are welcome to join us!

It’s easy to say “not yet.”

Sometimes we genuinely don’t know what God is asking of us. But sometimes we do know. We just don’t feel ready, or it’s inconvenient, or there always seems to be something else that needs our attention first. That’s what makes Haggai worth sitting with.

Where might “not yet” be keeping us from faithful obedience?

Thus says the LORD of hosts: “These people say the time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the LORD.” Then the word of the LORD came by the hand of Haggai the prophet, “Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins? Now, therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways.” - Haggai 1:2-5

Consider your ways...
Think carefully about...
Place your heart on...

This Sunday we kick off a new series in Haggai: “Consider Your Life”

God had called His people to rebuild the temple, but 16 years had passed and the work still hadn’t begun. Haggai calls them to consider where they’ve been investing their time, attention, energy, and to return to the work God had given them.

It’s a good question for us, too.

Are we investing our lives in the things God has called us to? Are we knowing Him, sowing to the Spirit, doing good, sharing the gospel, serving our communities, and making disciples?

Consider your life. What are you investing in?

We’ll explore that question together this Sunday as we begin.

There’s a lot more to House Church than what happens around the discussion, but it usually starts with people simply showing up.

Mosaic House Churches are smaller expressions of the church doing all the things a biblical church would do: giving, serving, teaching the Scriptures, practicing the sacraments, encouraging one another, practicing discipline, etc., all under the authority and oversight of the larger church.

It’s a simple way of making space for people to know and follow Jesus together. And we’re excited to see where God takes us.

Our righteousness does not depend on our perfection, but through faith in Jesus Christ. Our salvation is a gift by God’s great grace. Not only can we not earn it, but we can’t work to keep it. And we don’t have to!

This should both humble and bolster us. By God’s gift of grace, through His Son, God is with us, working in and through us, and has brought us into the family of God.

“Brothers and sisters, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.” - Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭18‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.“ - Galatians 6:14-15

We are wrapping up Galatians tomorrow. Join us!
