Sermons
During September and October, we will be doing something different that I hope you’ll all enjoy. Our preaching team for Kempton and Cullom (which includes Barb Schlatter, Deb Honegger, June Yoder, Dustin Steidinger, and Leighton Miller) will join me in preaching a sermon series on the book Called: Hearing and Responding to God’s Voice by Susan Robb. All four churches will get the same eight sermons (just in a different order). This also gives Pastor Terri a chance to listen to the others in our group preach. If you’re interested in reading the book along with us, there will be a study at Kempton or you can simply purchase your own copy and read at your leisure.

Charge Conference
It’s that time again! Charge Conference will be held on Sunday, October 11th at 5 PM at Pontiac United Methodist Church. All paperwork must be completed and turned in by September 25th. If you are interested in learning more, attending, or assisting with paperwork, please let Pastor Terri know. This is a great way to get to know more about The United Methodist Church and its processes. Plus, we always get a great sermon and beautiful music at charge conference! If you remember the years when this took hours, know that it’s very different now. All of the churches vote at the same time, so the business portion rarely takes longer than 20 minutes.

Book Study at Kempton
Join us Thursday mornings at 9:30 AM September 10th - October 22nd at Kempton for an engaging book study. We will be reading Called: Hearing and Responding to God’s Voice by Susan Robb which will be the focus of our sermons during those months. Walk with us through the lives of Abraham, Samuel, Esther, Jonah, Mary Magdalene, and The Disciple Whom Jesus Loved as they receive and respond to God’s call in their lives. If you are interested in attending, carpooling will be available. Please let Pastor Terri know and we will make sure you have a ride! You may buy your own copy of the book or ask Pastor Terri to order one for you. The cost of the book is $20 for a paperback and $9.30 for a Kindle copy.

Coffee in Strawn
Join us on Tuesday, September 1st for coffee and treats at Kairos Coffee in Strawn. We will carpool from Forrest UMC at 10 AM. If you would like a ride from Chatsworth, let Pastor Terri know. The rest of the month, we will hold our usual coffee time at the Steamer in Forrest on Tuesdays at 10 AM. All are welcome!

Card Making
Join us Sunday, September 20th immediately following the service for a time of fellowship, lunch, and making cards for our upcoming birthdays and shut-ins. This will be held on the 3rd Sunday of every month, so mark your calendars!
