You've been sold a lie. Americanized Christianity promises comfort, success, and a life that works out smoothly when you trust Christ. That's not the gospel.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28

Does "working together for good" mean you get to skip the suffering? Does God's purpose always look like your plan?

Today: Stop expecting the Christian life to be easy and start trusting that God's good plan may include your hardship.

The more you give things to God and He gives you peace, the more you trust that He'll give you peace again. It's replenishing returns.

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." - Isaiah 26:3

He was good yesterday. He'll be good tomorrow. You can just live today.

Tonight: Thank God for one time He gave you peace when you didn't expect it. Then thank Him that He'll do it again tomorrow.

When's the last time the story of Jesus made you weep?

"Jesus wept." - John 11:35

F***y Crosby said, "Stay, let me weep while you whisper." She couldn't see, but she could weep over her Savior.

When's the last time the crucifixion story, the resurrection, His love for you moved you to tears?

Tonight: Read John 19. Let yourself feel it. If you weep, let it come. Your Savior deserves your tears.

Emotions aren't wrong. They're just wrong when they're in charge.

"Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:" - Ephesians 4:26

God gave you emotions. You get angry. You get worried. Why can't you get joyous about God?

Don't let fear of man or past mistakes keep you from celebrating your King.

Tonight: Think of one emotion you show easily (anger, worry, excitement for sports). Ask God to give you that same energy for Him.

You think meekness means you keep your mouth shut. You think it means you never take a stand. You've confused strength under control with having no strength at all.

"Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth." - Numbers 12:3

Do you have the courage to say the right words at the right time, or are you just silent because you're afraid?

Today: Stop confusing cowardice with meekness. Find one place where you need to speak truth - and say it with controlled strength, not weak silence.

If you got as excited about Jesus as you do about worry, the world would know.

"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice." - Philippians 4:4

We call people when we're fretting. We text when we're anxious. We post when we're upset.

Imagine if every time you worried, you told someone "Jesus is good" instead.

Today: Every time you start to fret, text someone - "Jesus is good." Do it. Watch what happens.

The world moved when the people got excited about Jesus.

"And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?" - Matthew 21:10

It wasn't just another man on a donkey. It was their Hosannas. Their proclamation. Their excitement that made people ask, "Who is this?"

What makes you different in your sphere? Your excitement for Jesus.

Tonight: Pray this - "Lord, give me back my fire. Give me back my emotion for You. Let my joy in You be obvious."
