Day 2 of VBS at Community Fellowship Church was an incredible blessing!
God showed up and so did the children to learn about Jesus, build friendships, and have lots of fun through games, activities, and interactive learning.
Yesterday’s lesson focused on “Getting to Know God Through Jesus.”
Our key verse was John 14:6:
“Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
The children learned that the most important relationship they can ever have is with God. Through Jesus Christ, God made a way for us to know Him personally and experience His love, forgiveness, and salvation.
To help our younger children better understand the four Gospels, we used simple age-appropriate concepts:
📖 Matthew – Past
📖 Mark – Present
📖 Luke – Future
📖 John – Eternity (Forever)
This creative approach helped the children understand that God’s story and His love for us reaches from the past, impacts our lives today, guides our future, and promises eternal life through Jesus Christ.
We also learned:
✝️ Who God is and who Jesus is
🕊️That God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins
✝️ That Jesus rose again so we could be saved
🕊️What sin is and why we need forgiveness
✝️ That while God forgives us when we repent, His grace is not a license to continue living in sin
Examples of sin discussed included:
• Lying
• Disobeying parents
• Being mean to others
• Cheating
Throughout the lesson, we explored scriptures including:
📖 John 14:6
📖 John 3:16
📖 John 4:24
📖 Romans 3:23
📖 Matthew 1:21
📖 Romans 5:8
There is nothing more rewarding than watching young hearts learn about Jesus, ask questions, grow in faith, and discover just how much God loves them.
