It has been said that opinions are like noses...everybody's got one and often times we like to blow it... This topic is no different!

This Sunday, we’ll be addressing a difficult but important topic: What does the Bible say about abortion?

This is not an easy subject. It’s personal, emotional, and often surrounded by strong opinions. But as Christians, we don’t shy away from hard conversations—we seek truth with humility and compassion.

Our goal is not to stir controversy, but to open God’s Word and understand His heart on matters of life, value, grace, and redemption.

No matter your background, questions, or past experiences, you are welcome. This will be a message grounded in truth, spoken in love, and rooted in Scripture.

Join us this Sunday as we carefully and prayerfully explore what Scripture teaches on the topic of Abortion.

Have you ever been strong in faith one moment… and struggling the next?

This Sunday, join us as we study Exodus 32:1-5 and the shocking account of Israel’s fall into the golden calf incident. God had blessed them, delivered them, and shown His greatness — yet they quickly turned away. But the story does not end in failure. It also reminds us of God’s call to renewal and faithfulness.

Does your faith have more bends and twists than a roller coaster? You are not alone!
One moment, God's people (Israel) had mighty mountain-moving faith, and the next they were at the lowest of lows. They went real quick from greatness to golden calves — and back to greatness.

Join us this Sunday as we explore:
• Israel’s greatness with God
• Their quick fall into sin
• God’s call to renewed faith and devotion

No matter where you are spiritually, this lesson speaks to the struggle, weakness, and hope we all experience.

We would love to have you worship with us this Sunday at the Foristell church of Christ!

Love... It's not JUST a chemical process in your brain, a feeling, or a moment. Love is not JUST hoping someone gets a meal when they need it, a coat when cold, or a wish for a better future. Love is action, and it works in our lives!

Barnabas was a man of action, and a man of love. He loved God, and he loved others. As a result, he worked to show that love to all possible. But, he was not perfect. There were times he failed!

Join us this Sunday online or in-person (4/26/26) as we look at the life and love of Barnabas. What an encouraging man that continues to encourage us 2,000+ years later, AND encourages us even though he failed at times. We can ALL relate to that! Need encouragement? This is the sermon for you!

This was a powerful article showing that gambling & sports betting are extremely different than investing.

Aside from the article, God's word shows that the root of gambling is greed (Luke 12:13-15), but at the root of leadership and godly Christianity is being free from the love of money (1 Timothy 3:3; Titus 1:11).

Here are key takeaways and quotes:
🔑 Key Points
1. Investing and gambling are fundamentally different
Investing = ownership of productive assets (stocks, bonds) that generate future cash flow.
Gambling = wagering on outcomes with no underlying asset.
The key distinction: investors participate in wealth creation; gamblers speculate on outcomes.

2. Expected outcomes are opposite
Investing is designed for positive long-term returns (compounding growth).
Gambling is designed with a negative expected return—the system (“the house”) wins overall.

3. Most gamblers lose—and often don’t realize it
Over 95% of online sports gamblers lose money over time.
Losses are not just bad luck—they are built into the system.

4. The real cost is hidden
It’s not just the money lost betting.
It’s the lost future growth of money that could have been invested (compounding effect).

5. Gambling is increasingly disguised as investing
Apps and platforms are designed like games—fast, exciting, and addictive.
Messaging emphasizes entertainment and quick gains, while downplaying risk.

6. Younger generations are especially vulnerable
Many feel financially behind and turn to high-risk speculation to “catch up.”
This creates a dangerous mindset: chasing quick wins instead of building long-term wealth.

7. Gambling crowds out real investing
For every $1 spent on betting, more than $2 is pulled away from investments.
This directly harms long-term financial stability.

8. Financial harm hits the most vulnerable hardest
Increased gambling correlates with:
Higher credit card debt
More overdrafts
Lower savings and investment
The people least able to afford losses are most affected.

9. Behavior becomes self-reinforcing
Losing gamblers often bet more, not less.
Platforms are designed to encourage continued engagement (and loss).

10. Core principle: discipline vs. speculation
Wealth building comes from:
Patience
Long-term thinking
Consistency
Not excitement or quick wins.

💬 Powerful Quotes:

“The gambler hopes. The investor owns.”

“More than 95% of participants are net losers over time.”

“This is not a feature of bad luck… it is the mathematical inevitability.”

“The true cost is… the compounded future value of the investment that was never made.”

“Owning beats hoping. Discipline beats speculation.”

“The house… is structured to ensure it wins.”

“This is a financial literacy crisis in the making.”

Gambling is rising in popularity, blurring lines between betting vs. investing. Misunderstanding the key differences can endanger financial security.

Happy Easter! You will probably get this greeting this weekend, especially on Sunday. But, did you know that Easter is not even in the Bible? In the King James Version (KJV) they translated the word "Passover" as "Easter" in Acts 12:4. The word "Passover" is used many times throughout the Bible and never translated "Easter" in any other passage. Curious, huh?

What's the point? That God did not intend for us to gather once a year to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus...it is actually something Christians are to do weekly in the Lord's Supper. Want to know more...you'll just have to come check out the lesson on Sunday (4/5/26) in-person or online.

If I'm a good person, I'm a saved person, right?!?! Maybe not.

Is there a difference between being "good" and being "godly"? You bet! For example...who defines what is "good"? One person might define "good" as one who donates lots of money while another might define "good" as those who render lots of service?

In addition, what if a person is, in fact "good" does that automatically make him "godly"?

Wow, deep questions, right?! Join us this Sunday (3/29) as we look at this topic of being "good" versus being "godly". You may be surprised at what the Scriptures have to say about this topic. Hope to see you Sunday, 10am!
