Paul in Forest Lake, Minnesota. Over 1700 families strong, our parish serves the city of Forest Lake and the surrounding area. In addition to Daily Mass and the Sacraments, we offer more than 70 programs and outreach ministries. In many ways, the Church is a field hospital for those in need. But often, the Archdiocese lacks the financial capacity to provide meaningful support to our neighbors when a crisis hits. Lord, Renew Your Church will create a $12.5 million endowment — a tithe based on the campaign goal — to bring Christ’s mercy to refugees, the homeless, and those affected by natural disasters, so we can always show up for those who need our help most.

In Honor of Memorial Day, the Parish Office and School will be closed.

There will be no 8:30 am Mass or Confessions today. A Memorial Day Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am at Calvary Cemetery, followed by military honors. All are invited to join us as we remember and pray for those who have served our country. Please bring your own lawn chair. In the event of inclement weather, Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church.

To honor the veterans buried at Calvary Cemetery, volunteers from the Forest Lake American Legion will place flags at their graves for the holiday weekend. Please note that these flags are the property of the American Legion and will be collected on the Tuesday following Memorial Day.

During retirement, they continue to minister in many ways and remain a fixture in our parishes. Priests are essential to the Church, as only these holy men can consecrate the gifts of bread and wine into the live-giving Body and Blood of Christ. But there are challenges to forming men to serve as our shepherds — the cost of seminary education has risen, and many men spend as many as 10 years in formation before ordination. Lord, Renew Your Church will create an endowment to assist with the education of men who will one day dedicate their lives to serving our parishes.

Lord, Renew Your Church will allow us to make crucial repairs and updates to our Mother Church, the Cathedral of Saint Paul. By upgrading restrooms, restoring the sacristy, and replacing the HVAC system, this central worship space for our Archdiocese will be more welcoming for parishioners and visitors alike.
