We are excited to welcome back students and teachers from East Rutherford High School to First United Methodist Church for another year of learning, fellowship, and ministry! ❤️

Beginning this fall, 32 students will gather in our Fellowship Hall every week, rotating through four groups focused on Baking & Cooking 🧁, Community Service 🤝, Woodworking & Pottery 🪵🏺, and Church Care & Cleaning Projects 🧹✨.

Each group will learn new skills, serve others, create, and help care for our church, with guidance and support from their teachers and aides. We would love for our church members to join in this ministry! Whether you enjoy cooking, creating, serving, working with your hands, or simply spending time with young people, there is a place for you. This ministry is all about building relationships, sharing our gifts, serving our community, and reminding these students that they are a valued part of our church family. Come be a part of this wonderful outreach and experience the joy these students bring to our church!

As we begin a new school year and a new season of ministry, we invite all children, youth, and families to join us on Sunday, August 16 for our Fall Kickoff for Children and Youth Ministries. This special day launches our 2026–2027 ministry year with connection, excitement, and a renewed commitment to spiritual growth.

Guided by the words of 2 Peter 3:18, we step into this season ready to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Let’s begin this year rooted in grace, eager to grow, and ready for all God will do.

Children’s Kickoff – 9:30 a.m.
All children are invited to meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 a.m. for breakfast, games, and a fun morning of reconnecting as we begin a new year together.

Youth Kickoff – 5:00 p.m.
All youth are invited to gather at 5:00 p.m. for our Youth Kickoff: Let’s Get This Year Started! We’ll celebrate the beginning of a new school year with a cookout, fellowship, and plenty of water fun—including a slip‑and‑slide. With new leaders joining our team and new groups forming, we’re excited about all that God has in store for our youth this year. Come ready to connect, make new friends, and welcome new faces. Invite your friends and join us! We can’t wait to see you there!
