❄️ WINTER STORM PREP ❄️
As we prepare for possible ice and severe winter weather, here are a few important reminders to help keep you and your loved ones safe.
BEFORE THE STORM
• Charge phones, power banks, and lanterns
• Fill gas tanks and get small bills of cash
• Pick up prescriptions and essential medications
• Download movies, maps, or books for offline use
• Choose one warm room to stay in if power goes out
PROTECT YOUR HOME
• Drip faucets on exterior walls
• Open cabinet doors under sinks
• Disconnect garden hoses
• Know where your water shut-off valve is
• Fill containers with water just in case
FOOD & HEAT
• Keep 3–5 days of easy, no-cook foods
• Have a manual can opener
• Gather blankets and warm layers
• Use flashlights or battery lanterns instead of candles
• Never use grills or generators indoors
TRAVEL & POWER
• Avoid driving once freezing rain begins
• Bridges and overpasses freeze first
• Keep a weather app or battery radio handy
• Unplug sensitive electronics during outages
CHECK ON ONE ANOTHER
• Bring pets indoors
• Check on elderly neighbors or those living alone
• Be patient—power restoration after ice can take time
❄️ A REMINDER FOR THE SOUTH:
Ice is often more dangerous than snow. Even small amounts can cause power outages and hazardous travel.
Please share this post with family, friends, and neighbors—especially those in your community and surrounding impacted areas—so everyone can prepare and stay safe.
We are praying for covering, wisdom, and protection for all. 🙏🏾
