May we take time to consider our blessings today, and remember to give thanks to the giver of all good gifts: Our Heavenly Father! May we bless His Holy name and thank Him for our protection and health. Let us thank Him for our families and friends. Most of all let us thank Him for His love that was manifested to us through Jesus Christ. God is good to us!

The prodical son took a long journey away from his father. When he finally came to himself, he was ready to go to his father and ask him if he could just be a servant, because he had certainly not acted like a son. According to the scriptures, the father had been watching for him every day since he left. The father did not have a long list of his sins and he did not treat him like he had been in the “pig pen”. The son repented before the father and was accepted immediately. That is the same action that our heavenly Father takes toward us. Let us each realize the great love and mercy that God, our Father has for us and live by faith in that love.

Our place of shelter from things that are too difficult for us. Psalm 61:1-4 (Amplified)

Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed and fainting; lead me to the rock that is higher than I [yes, a rock that is too high for me]. For you have been a shelter and a refuge for me, a strong tower against the adversary. I will dwell in your tabernacle forever; let me find refuge and trust in the shelter of your wings. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that].

Because we have a covenant with God through Jesus Christ our Savior, these words are for us today.

Isaiah 41:10 (Amp)

Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of righteousness and justice.

Living by faith is pretty easy. Right? NOOOO! No it is not easy or everyone would be doing it. We must make an effort every day to remember to live by faith and not by what we see or hear. Faith works by love according to Galatians 5. We must love people, but we will have a hard time loving people if we are not confident that God loves us! Our ability to live by faith and do what Jesus said to do is directly related to our understanding of the love of God for us. I pray that God will give us that revelation.

We must live by faith in God and not by what we see going on in the world. If we look at all the things going on around us in the world, it is very easy to get upset. The Bible says that faith pleases God and if we live our lives with our faith firmly placed in Him, we can walk through the storm and not be afraid. We can live our lives in victory because we have our hand in His. Our faith is in the solid Rock of Jesus Christ, and therefore it does not slip or fall. Even when we endure trials or temptations if we keep our faith in the power of God, He is faithful to see us through to victory.

It seems that many people are calling good what God calls evil and what God calls right, many are calling that wrong, so we need to remember what Psalm 1 says to those of us who are the children of God.
Psalm 1:1-3 (Amplified)

Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous and enviable) is the man who walks and lives NOT in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes] nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down[ to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, and the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and
come to maturity].

Have you noticed that there seems to be a spirit of strife operating among people these days? And some of those people just seem to come your way and get on “your last nerve”, so that your first reaction is to want to give them a piece of your mind? Most of us are experiencing this from day to day. What should our response be? We should remember that the Word of God says that we have great peace and that nothing should offend us IF we keep our minds resting on the Lord. This takes determination and effort in today’s world, but we can do it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives inside of us. We are able to be the victors in life because of the power of God!

May we always remember that God is our Refuge. Psalm 57:1-3 NKJV

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in you; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities be passed by. I will cry out to God Most High, to God who performs all things for me. He shall send from heaven and save me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up (Selah) God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.

Where is your focus? Do you feel weighted down by things going on in this world? Are you distressed, troubled, agitated? If you are saying yes to these questions, do not feel that you are alone. What must you do? We must change our focus. When Jesus fed the 5000 men with five loaves and two fish, the Bible says He lifted up His eyes toward heaven and blessed the food. Jesus did not look at the large crowd and the small amount of food available, He looked to His Father, God, and blessed what he had. God made it sufficient. God is still the same today, as He was yesterday, and will be tomorrow. Don’t look at your lack or your trouble. God has your answer. Receive it!
