Today is Pentecost. Pentecost is the Christian celebration of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles and other followers of Jesus, an event described in Acts 2. It occurs 50 days after Easter and is widely regarded as the birth of the Christian Church. We will honor this day with the sacrament of communion reminding us that Christ gave His life so we could have eternal life.
