New Worship Schedule:
We will be doing a 6-month trial of one church service each Sunday for Bethel and St. Michael's and United Rockville on Saturday afternoons.

The parish council proposed that we meet at one church each Sunday to help not only with finances, but also with a new spirit in church together.

Started in July, we began this trial in worship. We will rotate services each week at Bethel and St. Michael’s, we will meet at 11:00 am. Starting on September 12, United Rockville will be having a Saturday service at 3 PM, Sunday School at 4 PM.

We will still meet at the appointed churches for celebration services.

September 13 Bethel at 11 am worship followed by lunch and packing of health kits for God’s Work, Our Hands

September 13th will be God’s Work Our Hands at Bethel. There will be worship at 11 am followed by a potluck lunch and then we will be packing Personal Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief. Last year we had over 200 kits. An urgent need has been put out by Lutheran World Relief for kits. There is a big need for these kits as there are many disasters happening around the world and in the United States.

INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN EACH PERSONAL CARE KIT
* ONE light-weight bath-size towel
(between 20” x 40” and 52” x 27”), dark color recommended
* TWO or three bath-size bars of soap equaling 8 to 9 oz., any brand, in original wrapping
* ONE adult-size toothbrush in its original packaging*
* ONE sturdy comb, remove packaging
* ONE metal nail clippers (attached file optional), remove packaging
* Toothbrush multi-packs may be used by sealing an individual toothbrush in a business-size envelope; no plastic bags or wrap

These items can be brought to church anytime or to any church service or on September 13 to God’s Work, Our Hands. Remember we did over 200 last year.

This week's (September 13) rotation of church services will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church at 11:00 am. This will be God’s Work, Our Hands. Followed by a potluck luncheon. If able, please bring a covered dish to share. Then we will be packing health kits. Please bring along any donations that you have.

On Saturday, September 12, this will start the Saturday afternoon services at United Rockville. The Service is at 3 pm and Sunday School at 4 pm.

Blessing of the Backpacks and Brief Cases Joint Service--On Sunday, August 16, we will gather for a joint service at 10:00 am at United Rockville Lutheran Church. The purpose is to kick off the school year with blessing the Backpacks. Since this is before Labor Day, we will, also, bless brief cases or any other work tool you would like to have blessed. Please come ready to share stories about ancient school days, where the school was, stories of school days are encouraged and welcomed.
