Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle was founded in 1860 by German immigrants. Today our rural congregation is a worship center for people from several communities, including Fontanelle, Nickerson, Fremont, Omaha, Blair, Arlington, Hooper and Winslow. We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Worship this past Sunday with the VBS Closing Program was WAY fun!

Thank you to the kids for the message of Jesus in word and song (and lots of jumping!)! I hope "God is" got stuck in your head... we'll hear it again this Sunday!!

Day 5 today at VBS finished up strong, getting ready for a SUPER fun ✨ Sunday morning closing program ✨ for worship at 10:00am! Join us as the kids share an amazing message of God's love this Sunday, June 14, for worship and a fellowship brunch! (kids- get there at 9:45).

Join me in prayer, would you? 🙏Thank you God for yet another amazing VBS week. Bless each child who heard the Word of God this week, that your seeds of faith might grow day by day in their heart. Nourish their faith, their life, and give us grateful hearts for every leader, volunteer, giver, and prayer warrior who showed us that God truly does provide. Help us all to remember the lessons of "Rainforest Falls:" "God is our creator...knows everything... is our safe place...love...forever. WOW God!" Amen! 🙏

VBS Day 4: What a day, with the focus on "God is love" from Tia the anteater. They heard the message of Psalm 136:1 "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever" and we are giving God all the thanks for the servant hearts of our VBS teachers, co-leaders Lynne and Koni, crew leaders, volunteers, and the kids themselves that make VBS at Salem so special!

Somehow there's only one day left, tomorrow 9-12; and Closing Program this Sunday, June 14 at 10:00am with brunch following. Let's soak up the last day of VBS tomorrow!!

Today the kids at VBS explored what it means that "God knows everything"! Our VBS friend, Seymour the frog, inspired us to hop into life with God, based on Psalm 139.

Daily Focus of VBS:
Day 1 - "God is our creator"
Day 2 - "God knows everything"
Day 3 - "God is our safe place"
Day 4 - "God is love"
Day 5 - "God is forever"

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is off and away!! The kids are having a BLAST at Salem learning about the nature of God here on day 1.

Today, Tango the bird reminded us that "God is our creator-- WOW God!" Thank you for trusting us with your kids, these are jam-packed mornings this week and we are so excited to welcome them tomorrow for VBS day 2!!

Just a reminder - Worship is at 10:00am tomorrow, on Sundays all year round!! In the past, we switched at the summer, but the congregation voted last year to keep it simple and keep worship at 10:00 year round.
