We are a Christ-centered community minded church who seeks to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our aim is to minster to the needs of others as Christ taught us, and to fulfill the command to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Our hearts are heavy today as we share that our beloved Pastor Emeritus, Richard Summey, has gone home to be with the Lord.

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. today, Pastor Richard closed his eyes for the last time on this earth and opened them again in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Richard was much more than a pastor to us. He was a dear friend, a faithful servant of Christ, and a treasured part of the Folly Beach Baptist Church family. We are so thankful for his years of ministry, his love for people, and the lasting impact he made on our church and community.

Please especially keep his beloved wife, Debbie, and their family in your prayers. We love them dearly and pray that they will feel the Lord’s presence, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.

Today we grieve, but we do not grieve without hope. We rejoice knowing that Richard is home.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
