The Potter’s Hands: Stay Pliable (Jeremiah 18:4)

When a potter works with clay, mistakes and flaws happen on the wheel. But Jeremiah 18:4 tells us something incredible: whenever the pot was marred in the potter's hands, he simply reformed it into another vessel that seemed best to him. The secret isn't being perfect—it's staying pliable! If clay dries out and hardens, it can only crack and break. But as long as it stays soft, the Potter can reshape any setback, bump, or flaw into something purposeful. Don't let bitterness or frustration harden your heart when plans change. Stay soft in God’s hands today!

Get Out of the Shaker: The Salt Devotion

A tiny pinch of salt changes the entire flavor of a meal, but only if it actually leaves the shaker! Jesus told us in Matthew 5:13 that we are the salt of the earth. You don't need a huge stage or loud words to make a difference today—just a little patience in line, an encouraging word to a coworker, or quiet integrity when no one’s looking. Don’t stay bottled up. Get out of the shaker and bring some grace and flavor to your world!

Once words leave your mouth, you can’t squeeze them back in. It takes three seconds to say something out of frustration, but it can take months—even years—to repair the damage. Today, before you react, snap back, or send that text, hit pause.
Ask yourself: is this going to build someone up, or leave a mess I can't clean up? (Proverbs 18:21)

Clean the Inside First: Matthew 23:26

If someone handed you a coffee mug that was spotless on the outside, but crusted with old, stained gunk on the inside, would you drink from it? Not a chance! Yet so many of us spend our lives doing the exact same thing spiritually. In Matthew 23:26, Jesus called out religious folks who polished their outward appearance while neglecting what was in their hearts: "Clean the inside of the cup first, so that the outside may become clean as well." We put on our best smiles, dress sharp, and act calm, while hiding bitterness, stress, pride, or resentment inside. God isn't looking for a polished performance—He wants a clean heart. Take a moment today to ask Him to wash what no one else sees!

People spend hours solving crossword puzzles, reading, and doing brain games to keep their minds sharp and agile. When you challenge your brain to solve clues, you strengthen neural pathways and improve recall.

Have you considered whether your spiritual reflexes are receiving the exact same kind of daily exercise?

Romans 12:2 encourages us not to adopt the world's patterns, but to experience personal transformation through the renewal of our minds. When stressful situations hit, what answers naturally fill in the blanks of your thoughts? Is it anxiety and worst-case scenarios, or the steady promises of God?

A conditioned spiritual mind doesn't happen by accident. It is built through daily devotion, meditation on Scripture, and intentional prayer. Spend time today training your thoughts in the truth of God's Word so your faith remains resilient.

A wise farmer plants his seed, waters the field, and then walks away with patient expectation. He doesn't panic and dig up the soil every few hours to make sure something is happening—he knows that life always starts in the dark.

James 5:7 says: "Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains."

Waiting on God is often one of the hardest parts of the Christian walk. When prayers seem unanswered and circumstances appear stagnant, it is tempting to believe nothing is happening. But just because you can't see the fruit above ground doesn’t mean God isn't actively working below the surface. He is cultivating your character, strengthening your roots, and preparing the ground for what lies ahead.

Trust the season of the seed. Your harvest is in the hands of a faithful God.

The Next Step: Walking by Faith (Psalm 119:105)

Take a look at a well-worn pair of walking shoes—the scuffs, the creased soles, the miles they’ve seen. You don’t get miles behind you by leaping across the whole journey at once; you get there one ordinary step at a time. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Notice it says a lamp for your feet, not a high-beam spotlight showing the next five miles. God gives you just enough light to take the very next faithful step today. Trust Him with the direction, lace up, and step out!

Pick up a heavy bag for two minutes, and it feels manageable. But try carrying that same bag for two weeks or two months—your body starts to break down and ache.
That is exactly what chronic anxiety does to your spirit. It never fixes the problem; it only wears out the carrier.
God never intended for you to shoulder yesterday’s regrets, tomorrow’s worries, or the heavy weight of other people’s expectations.
Peter reminds us to cast all our anxiety onto Him, because He cares deeply for us.

​Our favorite coworker has officially suited up in her slicker and sou'wester, ready to weather whatever winds blow through. While Ricki might look ready to jump in the nearest puddle, we're making sure everything here is secured and safe.

A submarine can descend thousands of feet into the ocean depths, completely surrounded by thousands of pounds of crushing pressure per square inch. Yet it never sinks or collapses—until it lets the water on the outside seep in.

Life is full of heavy environments: cultural tension, career stress, family burdens, and constant anxiety. But the outside pressure cannot crush you unless you open the hatch and let it consume your mind and spirit.

Proverbs 4:23 urges us: "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." And Romans 12 calls us not to conform to the patterns of this world. When your heart is sealed by the Holy Spirit and filled with God's truth, His peace sustains you through the deepest, darkest waters.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, seal off the negative noise, and trust that He has equipped you to withstand the depth.
