When someone is suffering right in front of us: hungry, thirsty, in some sort of pain, is our response empathy or mockery, or maybe even indifference and apathy? Do we ignore them and go about our business, or do we extend a helping hand?
It's easy to ignore those in need when we have everything we need.
It's easy to mock when we've never been there.
It's easy to be indifferent and apathetic when we lack the heart of Jesus.
Would our reaction to those who are suffering be different if it were Jesus Himself? Jesus gave His EVERYTHING for us: for our souls, for our hearts, for our allegiance… what do we give Him?
How much do we hunger and thirst for His righteousness in our lives, and how much do we share the love of Jesus with others?
