Dear All, You're Invited to Our Ash Wednesday Worship Service.
Join us as we mark the beginning of the Lenten season with a special Ash Wednesday worship service. This solemn and reflective service will provide an opportunity for us to pause, reflect, and prepare our hearts for the journey ahead.

Date: Wednesday, 14 February
Time: 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Location: Bowne Street Community Church, Flushing NY

During the service, we will have the imposition of ashes, a meaningful tradition symbolizing repentance and mortality. As we receive the ashes, we are reminded of our need for God's grace and our call to turn back to Him. Whether you're a long-time member of our congregation or seeking a place to experience this sacred season for the first time, all are welcome to join us. Let us come together in prayer, contemplation, and community as we embark on this Lenten journey.
Please feel free to invite friends, family, and neighbors to share in this meaningful observance. We look forward to worshipping with you.

Blessings,
Bowne Street Community Church

Grace and peace be unto you in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am Rev. Michael Raj Yesudhason, Pastor of Bowne Street Community Church.
It is with immense joy and gratitude that I take a moment to reflect on the vibrant journey we are embarking upon together as a new chapter unfolds in the life of our beloved church. I am humbled and honored to stand before you as your new pastor, ready to walk hand in hand with each of you on this exciting journey of faith. In this journey, I have been inspired by the warmth hospitality, welcome, and openness of this congregation. Your love for one another and your commitment to the Gospel are evident, and it fills my heart with hope for the incredible things we can achieve together in the name of Christ.
As we step into this new season, let us do so with hearts full of anticipation and openness to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Change is a natural part of life, and it is through change that we often find new opportunities for growth and service. Together, let us embrace this season as a time of renewal and fresh vision for our church. I am eager to learn more about each of you, your stories, your gifts, and your passions. Our diversity is a strength, and we come together with our unique perspectives. I believe that God has brought us together for a purpose, and I am excited to discover the unique ways in which each one of us can contribute to the life and ministry of our church.
As I take this time to address you, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and respect for the rich history and legacy of our beloved church, Bowne Street Community Church. I am reminded of the countless prayers that have been uttered within these sacred walls, the hymns that have echoed through the halls, and the lives that have been transformed by the power of God's love. Our church has been a beacon of hope, a sanctuary for the weary, and a place where the Word of God has been proclaimed with unwavering conviction. Let us take time to honor the pioneers who laid the foundation of our faith community. Their sacrifice, dedication, and commitment to the Gospel have shaped the character of our church. We have to carry this torch forward with the same passion and devotion.
Together, let us renew our commitment to worship, prayer, fellowship, and service. May we continue to be a community that extends the love of Christ to all, welcoming the stranger, comforting the brokenhearted, and standing as a testament to the transformative power of God. In the coming years, we will embark on a journey of reflection, celebration, and rededication. I believe and encourage each one of you, Children and grandchildren, great-grandchildren of deceased former members, and current members to actively participate in our church ministry and share your stories, memories, and hopes for the future.
I look forward to engaging with you in conversations, prayer, and worship. I am committed to leading with humility, transparency, and a heart for serving the needs of our community. Together, let us seek God's guidance as we discern the path ahead and envision the impact we can make for His glory. As we embark on this journey together, I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 1:6: "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." With this assurance, let us move forward with faith, hope, and love. I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead, and I am grateful for the privilege of serving as your pastor. May God's grace continue to abound in our midst as we navigate this new chapter together.

In Christ's love,
Rev. Michael Raj Yesudhason
