Asbury Summer Ministry Teams Summer Ministry Teams is a ministerial leadership development program for students interested in serving in camp and retreat ministry.

At Asbury University, we believe that summer camps are more than fun getaways—they follow the pattern of Jesus, who often retreated from crowds to center his ministry. As such, camp ministries allow students to grow with like-minded people for a short period in order to be better witnesses when they return to the places where God calls them.

Hi guys my name is Lexie Presta, and I’m going to be a junior next year studying journalism in Christian ministries. I’m from Elizabethtown Kentucky where I grew up with a big family.
My favorite thing about Asbury is the integration of faith into everything you do no matter your major because to me everywhere is a mission field, and Asbury fosters that belief.

Asbury University is ready to send its Summer Ministry Teams for a season of service! These phenomenal interns will be visiting camps, revivals, and churches in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Georgia, leading worship and facilitating transformational encounters with the living God.

This summer's worship team has chosen the name . In the wake of COVID and the various social, emotional, and spiritual pressures which youth may have faced over this past year, the name “Refresh” represents spiritual rest and reinvigorating energy. Our band’s verse, Philemon 6–7, further emphasizes the idea of the "refreshing of the saints."

Would you be praying for these SMT interns as they travel and serve as a worship team from June 7–July 26?

Seth Mesaros
Lexie Presta

Here are some particular ways to focus your prayers:

1) Pray for safety in students' health (especially with navigating COVID-19 policies) and long-distance road traveling.
2) Pray for spiritual maturity and fruit so that the ministry which these students lead flows out of their relationship with Christ and the power of the Spirit, not their own strength.
3) Pray for wisdom and patience as the SMT encounters hard situations, dilemmas, and conflicts with campers, camp leadership, and each other.
4) Pray for joy and love as the SMT grows as a team and as a family.
5) Pray for a refreshing work of the Holy Spirit on the SMT and those whom they lead in worship.

My favorite thing about Asbury is all the great people I’ve met and how they truly care about and push each other to be their best selves.
