❤️ **HUMAN FIRST. ALWAYS.** ❤️

Imagine having nowhere to call home.
No warm bed. No safe place to return to. No certainty about where your next meal will come from.

Now imagine someone simply stopping to say, **“I see you. You matter. You are not forgotten.”**

That is the heart of **Saint Miriam Human First Outreach.**

We are committed to meeting our neighbors experiencing homelessness **where they are—with dignity, compassion, friendship, and love.** We don't define people by their circumstances. We see the person first.

Today we served hot meals along with hygiene protein snacks, water and new Bombas Socks! Our volunteer chefs included were Betsy, John and Sue, and Leigh and serving our guests on site were Don, Mike, Betsy, Karen and Chet!

But we cannot do this alone!

🙏 **WE NEED YOU.**

🧤 **DONATE** warm clothing, blankets, food, personal-care items, and essential supplies.

🥫 **GIVE** financially so our outreach teams can continue responding to immediate needs.

https://humanfirstsaintmiriam.org

🤝 **VOLUNTEER** your time and help us bring compassion directly to our neighbors on the streets.

❤️ **PRAY** for those who are struggling, and for the people who walk beside them.

Your gift may seem small, but to someone who has very little, **it can mean everything.**

This isn't simply about giving someone something.

**It's about giving someone hope.
It's about restoring dignity.
It's about building human connection.
It's about reminding someone that they have not been forgotten.**

At Saint Miriam, we believe that **before anything else, we are human beings—and every human being deserves to be treated with love.**

**Help us put HUMAN FIRST.**

👉 **Donate. Volunteer. Pray. Join us.**
Together, we can turn compassion into action.

I can also make this into a **shorter, punchier Facebook version designed specifically to drive donations and volunteer sign-ups**.

❤️ You Belong Here. You Matter. You Are Welcome.❤️

Join us at Saint Miriam this Sunday, September 6th as we gather in faith, hope, and community to honor the Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time with two Masses at 7:30am and 9:30am with Father Liam, celebrating.

In this Sunday’s Gospel from Matthew, Jesus reminds us that faith is not meant to be lived alone. In our community of Saint Miriam we should remember that we are called to listen to one another, be kind, seek reconciliation, care for one another, and remember that “where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” Jesus has given us a great gift and it’s in our care.

That is who we strive to be at Saint Miriam—a community where we come together, support one another, celebrate our faith, respect one another and our leadership and make room for everyone!

✨ Come as you are. Come and be part of something beautiful. Come home to Saint Miriam.

Please join me and the Saint Miriam Board of Directors as we wish Monsignor Jim a very Happy Birthday today!

We know that being a pastor is often a lonely, challenging profession juggling the needs of parishioners, staying true to the Gospel, listening for the still small voice of God, moving forward even when frightened, providing spiritual guidance to everyone who calls, celebrating the sacraments and maintaining a strong parish, but our pastor also is caring for his own family.

Monsignor Jim is a dedicated leader with compassion, wisdom, and integrity, as well as someone who sacrifices much to minister and care for us.

Please take a moment to offer prayers and birthday wishes to Father and express gratitude for his leadership and guidance.

Happy Birthday, Monsignor Jim!

Parish Board of Directors

Over the last week during the school closure between terms, we used the time to repaint areas that needed touchup, deep cleaned the entire school and parish facilities, including carpet, installed new school classroom carpeting, and we also upgraded a large room across from the sanctuary into a Multipurpose (MPS) Room to better serve the needs of the community! (We still have a few back ordered chairs that will be arriving shortly and a few more touchups to complete at the room is ready for use after this coming week!)

This newly outfitted MPS will allow for light fellowship after Sunday masses, a new family room for families with children that need a respite during mass with full livestream capabilities so they don’t miss a thing! It will also be home to our baptismal families ahead of mass as they prepare for sacraments and provide a space for small groups to meet, outside rental groups, and administrative and pastoral care meetings as well!

We are pleased to continue to update our facilities and take care for all parishioners and visitors as we welcome them to Saint Miriam!

We are very grateful to our entire team for their hard work and dedication over the last week especially our Buildings and Grounds crew, Naia in administration, our outside contractors, Alan, our dedicated previous Board president, and also thanks to our pastor, Monsignor Jim, for his vision and dedication to helping with some pretty long hours this week to implement this new space!

Please visit our enhanced website to learn more at www.mysaintmiriam.org today and visit us next Sunday!
