Sunday, November 30th, Trinity Lutheran Church of Park Forest IL ceased its independent ministry after 76 years. This was my first call church and I am thankful to all the members and friends, colleagues and community members who supported me and this wonderful congregation over the years. Many past members and friends would like to have been present and thousands of our saints in light surrounded us. Special thanks to pastor Kathryn Nolte of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod, ELCA staff, who was present for the service as a representative of the wider church. Prayers for Trinity's members as they become members of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Lansing, IL.

Trinity Lutheran Church of Park Forest's closing is getting closer. As the congregation prepares for this time we experience many different feelings. My top feeling today (and this changes daily) is nostalgia. We have reached out to over 150 people by facebook, mail, email and by phone.

I'm thinking today about the people I know we haven't reached. Many of my confirmation class, many youth involved with Luther League in the late 90's (seemingly a very busy group). I wish we could reach more people!

Well, it's not to late to join us and if you know of a past Trinity member share the info and follow the instructions on the event page, think of some stories to tell, and have a great day.

💚❤️This Saturday, Our Gates Are Open — No Admission, Just Healing💚❤️

Our hearts are heavy as our community grieves the tragic loss of two young lives. This Saturday, from 3:00–5:00 PM, HHH will not be charging admission for Open Ranch.

We want to offer a safe, peaceful space for our children and community to come together — to grieve, to connect, and to let some of the heavy emotions find release. The ranch will be open for anyone who needs a moment of comfort, reflection, or just a breath of fresh air surrounded by caring hearts and our incredible rescue animals.

Please stay tuned — we’ll also be offering small group sessions for middle schoolers at no cost in the coming days to help them process their grief in a supportive environment.

Our hearts are with every family and friend walking through this loss. ❤️💚 You’re not alone — we’re here with you.
