I often pray that my children would not only intellectually know that God is good but they would experience his goodness in a tangible way. Would they taste and see God’s goodness in their lives, so they would know it as a fact and not just a religious idea. May you today experience his goodness. Would you savor his love when you sip that soul warming coffee or as you gaze upon the beauty of the sunrise. May you find his goodness around you in the details of your life.

When Jesus left the earth, Christians were given the gift of the Holy Spirit. He calls the Holy Spirit our “advocate.” We cannot do what God has called us to without His supernatural power. It is through the Holy Spirit that God comforts us, guides us, and empowers us.

For many of us we live in comfortable homes with stresses that come with living a happy and successful American life. God calls us to be more than comfortable. The religion that God wants for us stretches us, requires faith that we didn’t know we had, and brings us to otherwise scary places. We are all called to love those in distress. Start asking God in what new way would He have you love beyond reason. He will give you a heart to meet a need you didn’t even know existed and it’ll change your life in the best kind of way.

Controlling our tongue is one of the hardest things to do! We have the power to speak life or create death around us through our words. When we feel hurt, pain, anger, and unrest well up in our bodies it’s important that we pause to give space for us to process these feelings before letting words come out of our mouths. God is all about cause and effect. He set our world into motion and for the most part allows the powers of nature to work together on our Earth. He allows cause and effect to occur all around us. This is true when it comes to our own well being. What we say and how we work affect the quality of our lives. When we sow into the good and beautiful things around us, that is what we get to harvest. If we are lazy and careless then our reward is diminished. What are you investing your words and efforts in?

Isn't it refreshing to know that we can always count on God to love us? Even when we are unable to love ourselves, God will. How freeing it is to know that you can be in a relationship with God where nothing you can do, say, or think will ever halt His burning love for you. Rest in God's love.

You Are Free
For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. Respect everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear God, and respect the king. (NLT) -1 Peter 2:16-17
Faith in Jesus sets us free from the power of sin and death! Yet, our freedom is not an excuse for bad behavior. When Jesus is Lord of our lives then our actions should reflect his character. We should live lives that show respect for others and trusts in God as our provider and guide.

Protection
I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. (NLT) -John 17:15
When we become believers God doesn’t whisk us up to Heaven in order to spare us the trials and tribulations that come with being human. God has a different plan which uses his followers of agents that help to bring Heaven down to Earth. God knows there is an evil one that wants to stop you from completing your mission and asks that we are protected from him. As you go about your day ask God for protection from the evil one.
