Take a few minutes to read Luke 10:25-37, the story of the Good Samaritan. Notice while you read
-Need interrupts comfort
It was not comfortable for the Good Samaritan to stop his journey and take care of a stranger on the side of the road but he interrupted his plans to let faith take over and minister anyway.
-Compassion costs something
Helping the man on the road required personal sacrifice of the Good Samaritans own resources but he helped anyway, without restraint.
-Compassion requires action
It wasn't enough for someone to feel sorry for the man who had been beaten. He didn't need someone to tell him they felt bad for him. He needed someone who was willing to put his needs before their own and act on their compassion. Like the Good Samaritan.
Make an effort to be the Good Samaritan who chose to embrace the opportunity for ministry and serve those around you regardless of convince!
