Time for a history lesson: My parents along with my mom’s two brothers, Dr. Nao Tou Vang, Chang Hang Vang, and their spouses, forged this business about 13 years ago one spring day. I remember my mom asking me to help her plan for their grand opening. It was all very exciting. I was so proud of them all, for becoming their own bosses and partaking in the American Dream. I think the proudest person was my tais. I can still see her eyes beaming so proudly at her children.
My parents are the hardest working people I know and they mean the world to me. This business was my parents’ “baby.” They fed it, walked it, cleaned it, and watched it grow when people were there and when everyone went home.
My husband can speak for himself, but one of the biggest reasons I bought the business is to carry on my parents’ legacy to keep their “baby” in the family. Tom and I are hopeful we can sustain this business and make it an even more peaceful place for those leaving their loved ones to spend their last days.
