Strong message today from Pastor Brady Lewing:
Matthew 16:15–16, Jesus makes it personal to the disciples (and to us):
“But who do YOU say that I am?”
Peter answers:
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Then Romans 12:1–3 essentially answers the question: If that is truly what you believe, what should your life look like?
Paul gives us three very practical responses:
Give Him your whole life — “present your bodies a living sacrifice.” Christianity is not just believing who Jesus is; it is surrendering ourselves to Him.
Don’t live like the world … “be not conformed to this world.” If Jesus is Lord, the world shouldn’t be setting our values, priorities, or behavior.
Let Him change the way you think …”be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Following Christ changes us from the inside out.
And verse 3 adds humility .. don’t think more highly of yourself than you ought.
Bottom line
Matthew 16 asks, “Who is Jesus to you?”
Romans 12 asks, “If that is really your answer, can anyone tell by the way you live?”
