The Parish community joyfully celebrated a Thanksgiving Mass for the graduating high school seniors on Wednesday, May 20. The celebration began with a meaningful offertory procession in which the seniors brought gifts to Jesus: a Bible, a rosary, candles, and a cross, symbols of the faith that will continue to guide them in the next chapter of their lives.
Reflecting on the Gospel of Matthew 5:13–16, Fr. Rafael encouraged the graduates to become “the salt of the earth and the light of the world,” as Jesus told his disciples. In his homily, he reminded the seniors that they are called to bring flavor to the world through kindness, compassion, faith, and hope. He encouraged them to make life easier for others through their words and actions, saying, “When people meet you, they should experience something from God.”
Before the final blessing, Deacon Ralph Guerra offered words of encouragement and shared valuable life experiences with the graduating seniors as they prepare to begin a new stage in life.
The church was filled to capacity with family members, friends, faculty, and students. Young people from the Catholic faith, as well as other faith traditions, were present, making the celebration a beautiful sign of unity, gratitude, and hope for the future.
