Romans 8:38-39
"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

You Are Allowed to Ask for Help

Many of us learned that strength meant handling everything ourselves.
Recovery teaches a different lesson.
Strength isn’t pretending you’re okay.
Strength is being honest when you’re not.

Sometimes healing looks like:
• calling your Sponsor
• texting an Accountability Partner
• asking for prayer
• scheduling a therapy appointment
• admitting you’re struggling

Asking for help doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
It means you’re investing in your healing.

✨ Try this today:
Identify one support person you can reach out to before you actually need them.

💬 Let’s talk:
Who is someone you trust when life feels heavy?

Psalm 103:8-13
"The LORD is compassionate and merciful; he is patient and demonstrates great loyal love. He does not always accuse, and does not stay angry. He does not deal with us as our sins deserve; he does not repay us as our misdeeds deserve. For as the skies are high above the earth, so his loyal love towers over his faithful followers. As far as the eastern horizon is from the west, so he removes the guilt of our rebellious actions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on his faithful followers."

Hebrews 4:15-16
"For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help."

Joe brought Lesson 18: Grace last night, and it was such a blessing to be reminded of the wonderful, undeserved free gift of God's grace towards us.

Because of the grace we are shown by God, we can also show grace to others.

We were forgiven. We can forgive.

We make amends with no expectations for reciprocation.

These things can be hard. Our feelings may not match.

But God can change our hearts and help us to live with sincerity through Him.

"God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength."

-Vance Havner

The first 3 principles in Celebrate Recovery speak to this:

1. Realize I’m not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable.

“Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor.”
Matthew 5:3

2. Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.

“Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
Matthew 5:4

3. Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control.

“Happy are the meek.”
Matthew 5:5

We can stop the cycle of failed will-power by submitting to our loving, powerful, caring God. 🧡

Romans 5:6-8
"For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (For rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person perhaps someone might possibly dare to die.)
BUT GOD demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were sill sinners, Christ died for us."

But. God.

This is grace. 🧡
