Puppet Love has been together since 1978, with ministering opportunities all across America and in other countries. We feel privileged to have ministered with puppets in virtually every Christian denomination, as well as non-denominational and interdenominational churches. It all started backing the mid-70's when Jonnie (Taylor) Britt was riding on the "Small, Small World" ride at Disney World. Se
eing how impressive all the animation was and how it captured the imagination of everyone, young and old alike, she was impressed of the Lord that when she returned to her home church, she was to minister in an exciting way. Highly creative, she wrote skits and dramas, attended a short puppet training seminar, and made some puppets. She soon found what valuable tools puppets were for teaching deep biblical truths in such a way that anyone could understand and grow spiritually … not just children, but adults as well. A few short years later she was joined by Dennis Britt, whom she later married, and a little later Clint West, who recently went home to be with Jesus. Though they were all from different backgrounds and had different talents, where puppet ministry was concerned, they were all of like mind. It was then that Puppet Love became the ministry Jonnie had envisioned. Utilizing the talents God had given each of them, they began creating their own puppet characters, building impressive props, writing Bible-based, scripture-filled skits and talks, and conducting puppet training seminars. Not being able to find puppets that not only looked good but worked easily, they designed and made their own puppets. They started producing 1/2 hour puppet programs called "Puppetville USA" for the local ABC TV station. Because of its coverage into the Myrtle Beach resort area, they became well known not only in their local area, but in other states because of vacationing visitors. That TV program has been airing continuously every Saturday morning in the same time slot for over thirty years! In addition to this program, Puppet Love has also done mini-programs for the local Educational Television Station. This came about because of their yearly Drug Education/Good Character programs they do in the public schools (that's been going on for over twenty years as well). Since their scripts are doctrinally based in the Bible, they can be used in any Christian denomination. The scripts and skits have been well received by thousands of children and adults. The writing and puppet performances still continue to this day.
