Today in the 4th-7th grade classroom, we began our unit on breaking down the Bible! We started with putting the books of the Bible in their perspective categories using colored pencils. After that, we used sticky notes to bookmark important events in Genesis.

In Children’s Church, we learned about The Last Supper or the First Communion. Our focus verses came from Matthew 26:17-30. We put the events of this story on a board in chronological order to reenact the last supper outside! In Children’s Church, we discussed the benefits of tithing! We used paper towels to show the power in numbers which was our lesson from last week. We always start a new lesson with a recap from the previous lesson. Our recent activity for this week’s lesson used water to demonstrate Malachi 3:8-10!

Our focus verse was from 2 Corinthians 8:12, where we discussed the difference between wanting to tithe and tithing because we are told to. We lifted the table together to show the power of giving together.

Today in Children’s Church, we learned about John 3:16. We used broken crayons to symbolize how we are sinful people. We put the broken crayons in heart molds to symbolize how God has to shape and us make us into the people that we need to be. We also got to give our Pastor a birthday card from us!
