During COVID-19, many churches in the west were among the organizations classified as non-essential and were forced to close their doors. Ever since, I have been asking God and seeking His guidance. In Matthew 25:32, it says Jesus will come and separate the sheep from the goats, distinguishing what is essential to the Kingdom from what is not. I have been truly crying out for God to help clarify the vision.
Revelation 21 reveals the Church as the New Jerusalem, with twelve doors, each symbolizing grace and a unique assignment. Jesus called it a city on a hill; Apostle Paul referred to it as a holy nation—a nation within a nation, with a specific assignment to make disciples of all nations. A nation built on God’s vision, with twelve doors, will always be essential. We have work to do. We need to engage and do our part.
I’ve been praying for our church’s next steps for the past three years, and I am constantly amazed at how God can speak to us. After nearly two years without contact with Pastor Tyrone G Gray, who knew nothing of the thoughts stirring in my heart, I spent a good afternoon in prayer yesterday, asking God to reveal our direction. Sometimes it’s easy to drift from God’s path, but right after my prayer time, I received an unexpected call from Pastor Tyrone, sharing exactly the guidance I needed.
It’s good to be obedient to God. I grew up around a powerful prophetic ministry, and I was once disappointed when a pastor told me to be careful with prophets, claiming they might get their insights from places like Facebook. I replied that if he felt that way, he must have drifted from God, because as children of God, we should have discernment within us, regardless of any prophet. When we ask, God truly shows up. The choice is ours to listen and act, or to delay—but we’ll always find Him right where we left Him.
Church Let go to work.
Let build a nation not a Sunday service thing if that is all there is it will always be none essential.
