What are you building your life around? In Haggai chapter 1, God confronts His people not because they rejected Him outright, but because they kept saying “not yet.” They built comfortable lives for themselves while the house of God sat in ruins. Sound familiar?

The warning is clear: delayed obedience can become a lifestyle of disobedience. When we consistently give God whatever time and energy is left over after everything else, our priorities are telling a story, and it may not be the one we think.

But here is the grace in it all. Even in the conviction, God declares to His people: “I am with you.” He is not calling us to rebuild on our own strength. He is inviting us back to His presence so He can restore what has been broken.

Give careful thought to your ways. Restore what misguided priorities have neglected. Give Him first place, not what remains.

Pastor Guy reminded us that the story of Jonathan and Saul is not just history. It is a question directed at every reader.

Are you asleep beneath the tree while the battle unfolds around you? Or are you willing to climb, even when the ground shakes, even when the resources are insufficient, even when the outcome is uncertain?

Advancing is bigger than you. It impacts others. It requires action. And it has the power to bring people home.

The promise on the other side of the wall is real. But the wall has to be walked through.

Today we remember the lives lost, the families who continue to grieve, and the heroes who gave everything.

In moments of sorrow, we hold onto the truth that God is near to the brokenhearted. May His comfort, peace, and presence be with all who still carry the pain of that day.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

Let us embrace each other in love and unity.
