Hey, is there anything in your past that you are ashamed of or embarrassed by? I am sure that we all have something. Whatever you're most ashamed of, know that Jesus is not ashamed of you at all. Listen, Jesus wants all of you even the deepest & darkest parts of your life. The thing that you're most ashamed of He has already taken care of at the cross. The things that you're most ashamed of and embarrassed by He already knows about. Hey, I get it, the fake you & me are doing just fine. But Jesus came on a rescue mission for the real you and the real me! Quit believing that when Jesus died on the cross that it was for somebody else's sin and not yours. Isn't time for you to start believing that there is more grace in Jesus than there is sin in you?? Here is the point, maybe you think the fake you is doing fine? But just know that the REAL Jesus died on a REAL cross for the REAL you! It's time to get real! Quit letting this world and the enemy define you by your scars. Hey, did you know that every major religion in the world agrees that there is a God up above and we are here on Earth. And those same religions say that we have to do somethings to get from here to there. Maybe it's visit Mecca, or obey the 5 pillars, or align your chakra, or obey the 10 commandments. Whatever it is the uniqueness & good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ starts out the same way. That there is a perfect & Holy God and that we humans are far from being perfect or holy. But the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that we don't have to in some way earn our way to Heaven. Nope! Jesus steps out of Heaven on a rescue mission for you & me and He does for us what we can't do for ourselves. There is a word in the Bible, Propitiation, and it means a payment that satisfies. Jesus is the payment that fully satisfies God's justice for the sin of all mankind. Did you know that when you put your Faith in Jesus that means He cannot be dissatisfied in you? Do you know how your life would be changed if you actually believed that?? We would quit thinking that our performance is going to somehow influence God's attitude towards us. Hey, I've got some good news, our past does not have to define us. Only God gets to tell us who we are. Our condition, our situation, our sin, our past, does not have to be what defines who we are. Why? Because God is full of mercy. Mercy simply means that we don't get what we deserve. Instead, we receive God's grace which we don't deserve. Listen, God loves you and Jesus is the proof. But understand this, good people don't go to Heaven...Saved people go to Heaven....Forgiven people go to Heaven. So, how do you receive God's grace? By believing that what Jesus did on the cross, dying for your sins, counted for you. By making Him Lord of your life. It is then that by grace you will be saved through faith. All we have to do is receive the gift of God's grace. There is nothing apart from Jesus that can offer us this free gift of grace. Maybe as you read this, you're wondering what about me? Maybe you've never been to church or know very little about what the bible teaches. Well again, the good news is that Jesus, by grace, through faith is for anyone who believes. But the sad thing is there are a lot of people in this world who don't think that they need a Savior. More specifically, they don't think they need Jesus as their savior. Even though their life on the outside may look awesome, at some point, they will lay their head on their pillow at night and wonder, is this it? Let me tell you that it is not. So, let me ask you, have you ever been saved?? Have you ever trusted Jesus Christ for your salvation?? Hey, have any of you ever just wished you had a do over button? You could push that button, and you could start all over with a NEW life?? A clean slate to start a New Beginning?? Did you know that Jesus can give you that? Listen, if you put your faith & trust in Jesus, and make Him Lord of your life through a personal relationship with Him, you can have that New Beginning. Too many people are looking for a "new life" or a "new beginning" in all the wrong places. To fill that void in your life that is deep within your soul cannot be filled with the things of this world. Stuff, status, and success in the end will not give us what we are truly looking for. Oh, people through the ages have tried to fill that void with stuff, status, and success, but in the end, they found that these things were just temporary fixes. In all actuality, what we're all looking for is life and life more abundant. The life that I'm referring to can only come through having a personal relationship with Jesus who laid down His life for you so that you could have that abundant life. So here is the question that I have for you, have you met the resurrected Savior? Hey, any of you ever been in terrible storm in your life? I'm not talking about a literal weather kind of storm. No, I am talking about the kind of storms that represent terrible circumstances in our lives. Maybe you're in a storm right now and you didn't see it coming?? So why are there storms? Why do bad things happen to people in this world? Well, there are all kinds of reasons. Sometimes the storm you're in is because of the bad choices you make. Sometimes in you're in a storm and it's not because of anything you have done wrong. But no matter what the reason behind your storm there is nothing on this planet that doesn't pass through the sovereign hands of our Almighty God. And when you really think about it, when you're in your storm being overwhelmed by the winds & the waves of your circumstances, all you're really looking for is peace. In those difficult moments it is easy for us to allow ourselves to think, Jesus, don't you even care about what I'm going through? And then you start to question God why are you letting this happen to me? God, what are you doing? Jesus, are you asleep at the wheel? Have you ever prayed, and prayed, and prayed and yet you sensed nothing but silence from God? And you take His silence as if He doesn't care about you?? Have you been there?? Listen, Jesus being at peace with your situation does not indicate a lack of compassion for your situation. And the amount of peace that you experience will be directly proportionate to how much trust you have in Jesus. Hey, I once worked with a guy who had the following motto on his wall of his classroom, "Life is NOT fair, but you will get used to it." He was right about life not being fair, but I don't know if we ever get used to it. Sometimes as Christians we tend to forget that "Fair" is not a Biblical value. So how do we keep trusting in the Faithfulness of God even when our prayers aren't answered the way that we want them to be?? There are a lot of people in our world, our nation, our communities, that are walking through some difficult things. Part of the reason why we walk through some of the difficult days of our lives is because we are listening to the wrong voices. Make no mistake about it we all have an enemy. And that enemy, the devil, wants you to question God. He wants you to question God's word when it contradicts your personal lifestyle or beliefs. He wants you to question whether God truly loves you. After all, if He really loved you then why are you experiencing such pain & heartache? Mostly, our enemy wants you to question your value to God. Listen, please don't believe that Jesus just died for the "good people" of this world. Nope, He died for ALL the people of this world. Even the ones that nailed Him to the Cross. Jesus died for you regardless of where you are in your faith with Christ. And He loves you more than you than you will probably ever know. So, I got to ask, who are YOU listening to? Well, now is the time to stop listening to all the noise that this world is offering and start listening to the Savior of the world and His name is Jesus!! Hey, have you ever had any arguments, fights, or quarrels with someone? Have you ever considered what the one common denominator in every one of your arguments or quarrels with someone was? Well, let me tell you, it was you!! Every single fight or quarrel you've been in you were in it. We often think it's the people all around us that is the problem. And if they would just straighten up then we wouldn't have any fights & quarrels. But the problem is that we fight & quarrel because we don't get what we want. And you know what causes quarrels between you and Jesus? You want something and He doesn't give it to you. In those situations, whether it's quarrels with the people around you or with Jesus, it's all because YOU want to be Lord of your life. You want to be king of your universe. You want this world and everything in it to revolve around you! And the reason we fight is because we don't get what we want, and what we really want can only be found through Jesus Christ! Not a pill, not a purchase, not a portfolio, not a plan, only Jesus!! Hey, I am sure that I don't have to tell you, but words matter. But do you realize how much they matter? Think about the power of words throughout history. Adolf Hi**er with the power of his words was able to justify a world war and incite the state sponsored murder of millions of Jews. Then you have Winston Churchill who with the power of his words rallied a nation & inspired the world to rise up & stand against Hi**er & the N***s. Churchill stated, "We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender." Make no mistake about it, words matter and there is power in our words. Satan certainly knows that words matter and that there is power in our words. Satan used the power of his words to convince 1/3 of the angels in heaven to follow him. He knows the power of words and the devastating effect that they can have. One of his main objectives is to poison our hearts so that poisonous, toxic, and destructive words that have a tendency to come out of our mouths will poison those closest to us. When we do this our enemy wins. Here is the point, your life will go in the direction of your words. You want to live a negative, bitter, unfulfilled life? Keep speaking negative, toxic, hateful things and that is exactly the kind of life you will have. Consider this, the human tongue is one of the smallest muscles in the body and yet it never gets tired. But even though it is one of the smallest muscles in the body it can still change your entire life. Afterall, what generally comes out of our mouths originates from the deepest part of our hearts. You want to start living a more fulfilled life while blessing those around you? Start by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart. Hey, did you know that back in the 1st Century people believed that if you were blind, or paralyzed, or crippled in any way that it was because of their sin or their parents' sin? Question, how big & bad of a sinner do you have to be before God refuses to forgive you? Answer, no one is too far gone to be saved by Jesus! Maybe someone reading this right now who hasn't surrendered their life to Christ and the reason is that you think you're too far gone? Maybe you think you have gone down some roads and been a part of some things that you don't think it is possible for God to love you? Listen, I will say it again, no one is too far from God to be saved & loved by Jesus. Jesus already knows every detail about your entire life before He saves you. We can't earn it & we certainly don't deserve it but only by God's Grace we are forgiven and accepted into the family of God. Even when the world sees our failures Jesus sees our future. Even when we are at our worst & we define ourselves by how the world views us, Jesus sees us for who He is transforming us to be. So maybe it's time that we stop running from God and start running to Him! Hey, have you noticed that there seems to be a lot of confusion in the world today?? It also seems as though we live in a world that is lacking a lot in the common sense department. We currently have a sitting Supreme Court Justice who in her own confirmation hearing could not define what a woman is. She even said in the hearing, quote, "I'm not a biologist." Do you really need to be a biologist to tell the difference between a male & female?? I mean, I'm not a botanist but I can tell you what a fern is. Just take any 5 or 6 year old kid to the playground with other kids and without any prompting they will immediately know which kids are boys and which kids are girls. Maybe it should alarm us that a 5 year old child knows the difference between a boy & a girl but a Supreme Court Justice does not. But then again, I guess that's why shampoo companies feel compelled to put directions on their shampoo bottles. Listen, we currently live in a culture that can't seem to define, or is attempting to redefine, a man or a woman, who can give birth and who can't, what a baby is, what pronouns mean, and what marriage is. So who do you think is behind this cultural confusion? It's simple, it's Satan. But listen, he is not just content on causing confusion in our culture. He is also working feverishly to cause spiritual confusion in our culture, especially when it comes to who Jesus is. And doesn't it make sense that if Satan can confuse people about something as basic, as simple, and as obvious as what a boy or girl is, he can certainly confuse & deceive people about who Jesus is.
