The Folly of Fences! We have grown accustomed to building, fixing and maintaining fences around our homestead. It’s tiresome and frustrating! Fences allow us to manage our animals without much work and allow us to do other things in life we would rather do than babysit the livestock. Most of the western church and its pastors/leaders have been fence builders and maintainer’s! You see…..Jesus tells us He is the good shepherd! (John 10) David tells us in Psalms 23 that the Lord is MY shepherd….! Fences aren’t needed when the shepherd is present! Shepherds have relationship with each that are under its care, the shepherd speaks & leads and the sheep follow because they know Him and trust Him! If you are tired of maintaining fences, try trusting the shepherd, He is faithful and will not let one of His own go, He will lead…..if you are willing to follow!

We recently was at a worship meeting and witnessed this….! I love it, it is a picture of how our hearts and lives should be lived out before the Lord. When we bow down HE reaches out and touches us, right where we are at!
