Twenty-five years later, the tragedy of September 11 still stings.

Today we remember the evil that was done, but we also remember the goodness of people who sacrificed everything to help others.

We remember those who lost husbands, wives, children, parents, family members, friends and coworkers.

We remember the first responders, the heroes, and all who ran toward danger when so many were trying to escape it.

Before 9/11, many of us carried a false sense of security. That morning changed us and changed everything.

It reminded us how quickly life can change and how precious our freedom, our families and our country truly are.

Wherever you are today, remember where you were on September 11, 2001.

Remember how you felt when you heard the news. Remember the shock, the fear, the heartbreak, disbelief and the multitude of emotions you felt that day.

Celebrate the heroes. Pray for those who still suffer from the illness, pain, loss and heartbreak caused by that day.

Pray for the families whose lives were forever changed.

Remember the strength and resolve that followed.

Americans stood up, reached out and joined hands with one another.
For a time, we were reminded that despite our differences, we are one people.

Today, we remember. We pray. We honor the heroes.

We ask God to comfort those who still carry the pain, to strengthen our nation, and help us never forget.
