We are always grateful for Darren Munerlyn and his work as a Certified Peer Recovery Coach, but we are especially excited to celebrate him this week. Today marks eight years since he achieved sobriety, beginning an incredible journey that ultimately brought him to our team!
Darren has worked with countless clients in his time at New Paths, dedicating his talents to the Opioid Overdose Recovery Program and eventually the Quick Response Team. He has helped to promote harm reduction and community readiness throughout Genesee County (and beyond). He is humble, kind, and a tireless champion for those we serve. He is also a two-time champion of the New Paths' Annual Chili Cook-Off, and an active member of his church, the HQLM Vision Center , which he credits with helping to guide him to recovery!
"I'm proud to be called on, to be trusted, and to be able to connect with our clients," Darren said. "I got the desire to give back through knowing I got to where I'm at thanks to people helping me. They never gave up on me. They believed that I deserved another chance through all of the bad times."
