God’s desire is not for us to receive Christ and remain exactly where we began. He calls us to keep walking with Jesus—developing deeper roots, building stronger faith, and living with greater gratitude.

Spiritual growth does not happen accidentally. It happens when we intentionally make Christ the foundation of our decisions, relationships, priorities, and daily habits.

What is your life being built upon?

Storms eventually reveal whether our foundation is strong. Careers change, relationships are tested, plans fall apart, and circumstances shift—but a life rooted in Christ has somewhere steady to stand.

This Sunday, we will explore Colossians 2:6–7 and discover why spiritual growth requires more than good intentions. God calls us to intentionally build our lives upon Christ, becoming rooted, strengthened, and thankful.

Good intentions alone will not produce spiritual growth.

Many of us want a stronger prayer life, deeper biblical understanding, and greater consistency in following Jesus. But wanting to grow and intentionally pursuing growth are not the same.

Roots deepen through repeated connection to their source. In the same way, disciples grow through small, faithful choices made with Christ each day.

Before this weekend ends, choose one intentional step: pray before reaching for your phone, read one chapter of Scripture, encourage someone, or serve another person.

Strong lives require deep roots.

A tree’s strength is determined by what is happening beneath the surface. The same is true of our spiritual lives.

Colossians 2:6–7 calls us to continue living in Christ—rooted in Him, built up in Him, and strengthened in faith. Spiritual growth does not happen simply because time passes. It develops as we intentionally pray, study God’s Word, worship, serve, and obey.

Someone near you may be walking through grief, disappointment, uncertainty, or spiritual exhaustion. They may not need a perfect answer; they may simply need to know they are not alone.
