F.A.I.T.H.: FOR ALL I TRUST HIM
What a powerful way to close out our 2026 Homecoming Revival.
On the third and final night, Rev. Bobby Gibson, Sr. challenged us with a message on faith: what faith is, what faith is not, and what it means to truly trust what God has said.
We were reminded that faith is the currency of the Kingdom. Our response cannot be based only on what we see, hear, or feel. Faith calls us to stand on the Word of God even when the evidence in front of us seems to say something different.
We learned about what faith is and what faith is not by looking first at the disciple Thomas and then contrasting his response with the faith of Abraham.
Thomas had walked with Jesus, yet when the other disciples told him they had seen the risen Christ, he chose not to believe without seeing for himself. His response was essentially, “I need to see it before I believe it.” But Jesus declared, “Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”
Then we looked at Abraham and the kind of faith God desires from us.
For 25 years, Abraham waited on the promise of God. He did not have immediate evidence that what God promised would come to pass, but he kept believing. Rather than focusing on what appeared impossible, Abraham focused on the faithfulness of the One who made the promise.
Romans 4 reminds us that Abraham “staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief,” but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. He became fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was also able to perform.
Thomas wanted to see before he believed. Abraham believed because God had spoken.
That left us with a powerful question: Will we base our response on what we see, hear, and feel, or on what the Word of God says?
Perhaps, one of the greatest reminders of the night was this: if we can trust God with our salvation, if we believe that He loved us enough to give His Son for us, then we can trust Him with everything else He has promised!
Thank you to every visiting church, pastor, minister, musician, choir, soloist, member, family member, friend, and guest who worshipped with us throughout these three nights of revival. Your presence, prayers, gifts, and fellowship helped make this week so special.
Night One reminded us that God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.
Night Two challenged us to become people God can use.
Night Three called us to trust God by faith.
As this revival comes to a close, may the Word we have received continue to work in us long after the services have ended.
May we keep trusting.
May we keep believing.
May we keep walking by faith.
And may we keep Walking in the Light.
