MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT: Serving at Mass

Some ministries take us right into the heart of the liturgy.

At every Mass, parishioners serve our community as Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and Altar Servers.

These ministries give parishioners an opportunity to participate more deeply in the celebration of the Mass through proclaiming Scripture, assisting with the distribution of Holy Communion, and serving at the altar.

Training is provided, and ministers are typically scheduled to serve once or twice a month at their preferred Mass.

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT: Amigos de la Misericordia

Faith. Fellowship. Food. Community.

Amigos de la Misericordia brings families from the Spanish Mass together on the first Sunday of each month to share a meal, build friendships, strengthen their community, and help wherever they are needed.

One of the best things about the group is how supportive everyone is and how willing people are to work together.

Everyone is welcome to get involved, whether that means helping serve food, joining their monthly gatherings, or helping others become connected with parish ministries.

Come meet Amigos de la Misericordia at the St. Mary Magdalene Ministry Fair, August 29 and 30 in the Parish Hall after each Mass.

Come explore our ministries, meet the people behind them, and find a place where you can serve, grow, connect, or be supported in your own walk of faith.

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT: Pastoral Council

Did you know St. Mary Magdalene has a Pastoral Council that works alongside Father Rowland to help support the life and growth of our parish?

The Pastoral Council helps identify ministries and services our parish community needs and offers the pastor the skills, experience, and wisdom of parishioners.

Serving on the council is also an opportunity to know your fellow parishioners better and play a meaningful role in the life of St. Mary Magdalene.

Members may be appointed or nominated, and the council typically meets every month or two.
