Happy Sabbath to everyone

May this Sabbath be full of peace and rest from the long week.
And may God bless your time with family and friends on this glorious day

Psalm 24:4-5
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive blessing from the LORD,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Psalm 113
Blessed be the name of the LORD
From this time forth and forevermore!
3 From the rising of the sun to its going down
The LORD’s name is to be praised.
4 The LORD is high above all nations,
His glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like the LORD our God,
Who dwells on high,
6 Who humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?
7 He raises the poor out of the dust,
And lifts the needy out of the ash heap,
8 That He may seat him with princes—
With the princes of His people.
9 He grants the barren woman a home,
Like a joyful mother of children.

Praise the LORD!

Peace in Middle East Appears Impossible

by: Dave Havir

Email: [email protected]

Call me a dreamer but I believe that there will be peace in the Middle East. Lest you think that I am proclaiming "peace, peace" when there is no peace, I believe that there will ultimately be peace in the Middle East.

Before we examine the factors that will bring about peace, let's look at some factors that create conflict in the Middle East.

Notice the following three factors.

Family conflict

Conflict in the Middle East can be traced back to a famous family.

God promised national blessings through Abraham (called Abram at that time) and his family (Genesis 12:1-3).

After Sarah (called Sarai at that time) convinced Abraham to father a child with Hagar (Genesis 16:2-3), God gave Abraham a prophecy about the child, Ishmael (verses 11-12).

When Abraham later had a discussion with God about the promises coming through Ishmael (Genesis 17:18), God told about the coming birth of Isaac (verse 19).

God told Abraham that the seed of Ishmael would become great (Genesis 17:20), but that the covenant would be established with the seed of Isaac (verse 21).

Hence, much of the conflict in the Middle East goes all the way back to the promises made to Abraham and to his children.

Territorial rights

When we look at the history of war, we can see that many battles among nations involve ownership of land and territory.

Let's go back to the time when Jephthah battled the Ammonites.

In Judges 11:12 Jephthah sent messengers to the king of Ammon and asked: "Why are you trying to start a war?"

In verse 13 the king replied: "Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt."

In verses 14-22 Jephthah gave the history about
how the Israelites had avoided Moab and Ammon and about how they ended up with the Amorite land.

In verse 26 Jephthah stated: "For 300 years, Israelites have been living in Heshbon, Aroer and the nearby towns along the Amon River gorge. If the land really belonged to you Ammonites, why did you wait so long to try to get it back?"

People have a long memory when it comes to their claim of owning land.

Fighting for God

In the same account about Jephthah and the king of
Ammon, we see another important reason for conflict.

In Judges 11:23 Jephthah told the king of Ammon:
"The LORD God of Israel helped His nation get rid of the Amorites and take their land. Now do you think you are going to take over that same territory?"

In verse 24 Jephthah continued: "If Chemosh your god takes over a country and gives it to you, don't you have a right to it? If the Loan takes over a country and gives it to us, the land is ours."

When nations feel that their God is involved in their fighting, they are committed and zealous.

Solution is coming

By recognizing these three factors that are creating conflict in the Middle East, we can see why this problem is not likely to go away soon. In fact, the conflict is not likely to go away until Jesus Christ returns.
God (through Jesus Christ) will bridge the gap between the descendants of Ishmael and the descendants of Isaac.
God (through Jesus Christ) will establish the territorial rights and privileges of all people.
God (through Jesus Christ) will assert His supremacy and sovereignty.
After a lifetime of conflict in the Middle East, there will finally be peace.

Happy Sabbath to everyone !

We have made it another week and now in the Sabbath day...
The Sabbath is a time to escape the world for 24 hours to relax and think on the positive stuff in life such as family and God's promises for us...

Have Sabbath to all...Stay warm

Psalm 103:13-14
Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
For He Himself knows our frame;
He is mindful that we are but dust.

Isaiah 49:13
Sing, O heavens!
Be joyful, O earth!
And break out in singing, O mountains!
For the Lord has comforted His people,
And will have mercy on His afflicted.

1 Peter 5:6
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

Ephesians 5:17-21
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.

News Headlines Five Years Into The Millennium

The book of Mark begins with the statement about the gospel: "The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God" (Mark 1:1). "Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, {15} and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel"" (Mark 1:14-15).

Did you notice what Jesus was preaching? He was preaching the gospel. The gospel of what? He was preaching the gospel of "the kingdom of God"! So Jesus came preaching the "good news" of the "kingdom of God".

Jesus Will Return

When Jesus returns, He will resurrect the Saints in the first resurrection.

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. {17} Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

"Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"" (Revelation 11:15).

The Saints will Reign with Christ for 1,000 Years

" And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. {5} ...... This is the first resurrection. {6} Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years" (Revelation 20:4-6 ).

What are some of the News Headlines we read about today?

Today, if we look at the news headlines, what do we see: War in the Middle East between the Jews and the terrorists, other wars and rumors of wars, murder, adultery, bearing false witness in court, nursing home abuse of patients, parent abuse of their children, stealing, theft, abortion, riots, demonstrations with looting and murder, immigrants, including some terrorists, crossing the southern border and sanctuary cities overloaded with crime and violence, drugs and fentanyl killing thousands of people. Su***de rates skyrocketing, safe zones in colleges, election fraud. The list goes on and on.

All of these headlines involves SIN, the breaking of God’s Commandments, Statutes and Laws. What is the solution? REPENT!!!

Will mankind repent? Will our nation America repent? If you read the Book of Revelation, the answer seems to be NO! The answer from the Book of Revelation is that God will have to send the 7 seals, the 7 trumpet plagues and the 7 last plagues including the Great Tribulation.

After the great tribulation and return of Jesus Christ, the 10% left of the people on the earth will be very troubled. The beginning of the kingdom of God on earth will not be a paradise the second after Jesus Christ returns to the earth and sets up his kingdom in Jerusalem

There will be many problems that Jesus Christ and the saints will have to face and solve in helping humanity, including housing, food, clothing, health conditions, mental problems and many other problems. The world will not be converted instantaneously at the return of Jesus Christ.

But what will the news be like five years into the millennium?

Satan the devil removed, mental illness down, mentally ill from the great tribulation receiving mental and spiritual care. This the first anniversary of no riots in the world, tithing is the new worldwide tax system, Jesus Christ launches massive rebuilding projects, representatives meeting in Jerusalem with the last Buddhist in Japan, junkyards of War equipment are being implemented to make farm equipment, droughts are ending in Egypt as they prepare to attend the feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem, Egypt selecting representatives for this year's feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem, the Mayor of Jerusalem preparing for much larger crowds at the feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem, Jesus Christ really is bringing order out of chaos. New school systems have been employed all over the earth with no teaching on evolution, nuclear family restoration has been established as the bedrock of society, birthrates is up, and crime rates are down. All of the farms worldwide are producing record crops of high quality nutritious produce and beef and poultry.

Jesus Christ declares to the world that the Jubilee year will be in force when the time comes, animals are now raised in healthy environments, man catches a fish in the Dead Sea, No more divorce, dads are now responsible in their families and for their families, Bible Study tonight with Jesus Christ as the main speaker, Doctors are in training for new health jobs. Lions have gone from being wild to being man's best friend, there's been zero cancer victims for the last five years.

What is Jesus Christ and God preparing us for? God wants us to help Jesus Christ in converting the world and he wants us to help. God wants us to be kings and priests in the World Tomorrow.

As you can see there is hope in the future with people turning to God and Jesus Christ. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Happy Sabbath to everyone !

It has been a very long week.

But now we have entered the Sabbath day , day of rest and reflection....

May this be a blessed Sabbath for you, your family , and church friends.

Psalm 146:5-10
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 Who made heaven and earth,
The sea, and all that is in them;
Who keeps truth forever,
7 Who executes justice for the oppressed,
Who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.
8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind;
The Lord raises those who are bowed down;
The Lord loves the righteous.
9 The Lord watches over the strangers;
He relieves the fatherless and widow;
But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.
10 The Lord shall reign forever—
Your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise the Lord!

Gratitude is an Attitude

by: Bill Bratt

How is your attitude on gratitude?

Webster’s Dictionary defines the word "Gratitude" as: "An appreciative awareness and thankfulness, as for kindness shown or something received".

Is your attitude, your state of mind, your disposition that of gratitude? Are you appreciative, grateful and thankful for the kindness that others have extended to you? Are you appreciative and thankful for the blessings that God has given you?

God Bless America!

The United States of America has been blessed with unmeasurable blessings from sea to shining sea. We have been blessed as an industrial giant and have tremendous agricultural produce and reserves with rain in due season with abundant harvests. We have an abundance of mineral wealth including coal, aluminum, nickel, zinc, copper, lead, tin, bauxite and other precious metal outputs. We have the greatest economy in the world and the best health and medical services of hospitals, doctors and nurses. We have the best military in the world, and also the best educational facilities and opportunities in the world.

Where did we get all of this vast wealth, resources and blessings? Let’s let President Abraham Lincoln answer: In Abraham Lincoln’s proclamation of April 30, 1863, for a nationwide day of fasting and prayer, he said: "It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God ... and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.... We have been the recipients of the choicest blessings of heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation ever has grown; but we have forgotten God! We have forgotten the gracious Hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own."

Abraham Lincoln recognized that our blessings came from God. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning" (James 1:17).

We all want God to bless America and we want Him to bless us too!

Don’t Forget to say Thank You!

If we want "gratitude" as an attitude then we have to develop an appreciative awareness and thankful attitude for kindness shown to us or something given to us. We have to learn to say "thank you".

Let’s look at an example when Jesus performed a healing: "Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. {12} Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. {13} And they lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" {14} So when He saw them, He said to them, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. {15} And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, {16} and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. {17} So Jesus answered and said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? {18} "Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" {19} And He said to him, "Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well"" (Luke 17:11-19).

Did you notice that only one of the ten men who were healed thanked Jesus for his healing? This man was grateful and said "thank you".

Let’s notice that in the last days that men will be very selfish and unthankful: "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: {2} For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, {3} unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, {4} traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God" (2 Tim 3:1-4).

We need to overcome bad attitudes and develop good attitudes, especially the attitude of being grateful.

We also need to teach our children and our grandchildren to say "thank you". It takes work on our part to be aware as opportunities come up to teach our family the proper manners of saying "thank you". If we train our children to say "thank you" then we will be helping them in developing the "gratitude" attitude. "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" (Prov 22:6).

Don’t Forget God!

In referring back to President Lincoln’s proclamation, he also recognized that the citizens of his day had forgotten God.

Have you forgotten God?

We don’t want to forget God, He is the giver of all good gifts: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning" (James 1:17).

Part of the definition of "gratitude" is being thankful for kindness shown and things received. God bestows much kindness, mercy and grace to us and He has given us unlimited blessings and has prospered us abundantly.

When people have it good and are prosperous they tend to loose sight of the fact that it was God who blessed them. Let’s look at a warning from God: "For when you have become full and prosperous and have built fine homes to live in, {13} and when your flocks and herds have become very large and your silver and gold have multiplied along with everything else, {14} that is the time to be careful. Do not become proud at that time and forget the LORD your God." (Deut. 8:12-14 NLT)

When people become proud they have a tendency to forget God. They do not want to listen to God.

God says in Jeremiah 22:21 (NKJV): "I spoke to you in your prosperity, But you said, 'I will not hear.' This has been your manner from your youth, That you did not obey My voice."

When people forget God, God will forget them. Notice this frightful warning in Hosea 4:6: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children."

Notice that this warning to God’s priests is also a warning to God’s people. The warning says: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge". Why? "Because they have rejected knowledge". What kind of knowledge? The knowledge that God is talking about is knowledge about Him, His truth and His law.

Be Grateful for God’s Law!

We in America have been blessed abundantly. Deuteronomy 28 is the blessings and cursings chapter. As you read the following passage, think about the abundant blessings that we have in the United States.

""Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. {2} "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: {3} "Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. {4} "Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. {5} "Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. {6} "Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. {7} "The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. {8} "The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. {9} "The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways" (Deut. 28:1-9).

Did you notice that these blessings are conditional upon the people keeping God’s ten commandments and walking in His ways?

Now let’s notice in the following passage as to what will happen if we don’t obey God and keep His commandments: ""But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: {16} "Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country. {17} "Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. {18} "Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. {19} "Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. {20} "The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me" (Deut. 28:15-20). These curses continue on to verse 68 at the end of the chapter. Take the time to read the entire chapter to get the full impact of both blessings and the curses.

We should thank God for His law, because if we keep His commandments we will reap God’s abundant blessings.

In Conclusion:

Our attitude on "gratitude" must be an attitude of thankfulness and appreciation for the multitudinous blessings that God has given us.

With the many blessings and the prosperity that God has bestowed upon us we must not forget God.

Let’s keep God’s commandments and walk in His ways so God will continue to bless us. Remember to pray to God daily and say "Thank You!"

Happy Sabbath to everyone!

As we approach Fall, may you reflect on the blessings that God provides for us and this Sabbath is a great time to reflect

Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

Psalm 40:3-5
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.
4 Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust,
And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works
Which You have done;
And Your thoughts toward us
Cannot be recounted to You in order;
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered.

Psalm 89:14-16
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;
Mercy and truth go before Your face.
15 Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound!
They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance.
16 In Your name they rejoice all day long,
And in Your righteousness they are exalted.

Proverbs 10:22
The blessing of the Lord makes one rich,
And He adds no sorrow with it.

For those individuals who just came back from the Feast and may have a long week . we been blessed with a full day of rest....

Psalm 128:1-3
Blessed is every one who fears the Lord,
Who walks in His ways.
2 When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine
In the very heart of your house,
Your children like olive plants
All around your table.

He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,

Count Your Blessings

There is a hymn in our church hymnal that is titled: "Count Your Blessings." Words and music by Johnson Oatman, Jr, 1856 - 1922 and Edwin O. Excell, 1851 - 1921. I am sure we are all familiar with this song and have sung it.

Count Your Blessings is an important theme every day of our lives and especially at Thanksgiving time. It is important to think and meditate on what God has done for us and to give Him thanks in appreciation for those things that He has given us.

Let’s look at this song and see what we can glean from it.

Verse 1, "When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done."

We are all faced with trials and tests, and with the problems of every day life. It might be minor as the car might need a set of tires, or an oil change, or it might be major such as an employment problem or a health problem. So we get somewhat down and discouraged.

So what can we do, "Count your many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise what the Lord hath done." Sometimes in our state of depression we may not want to think positively about what good blessings God has done for us, but we want to blame Him for our problems. But let’s stay positive and get out of our state of depression and force ourselves to Count Our Blessings.

Verse 2 says, "Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly, and you will be singing as the days go by."

Let’s look at a passage in the apostle Peter's life where he was burdened with a load of care and his cross seemed very heavy for him to bear.

Acts 12 and verse 1, "Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. {2} Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. {3} And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread. {4} So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover."

Peter was in prison for being a disciple of Jesus and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. His friend James had been killed and I am sure Peter was thinking he was also going to be put to the sword and killed.

Verse 5, "Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. {6} And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. {7} Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, "Arise quickly!" And his chains fell off his hands. {8} Then the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and tie on your sandals"; and so he did. And he said to him, "Put on your garment and follow me." {9} So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. {10} When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. {11} And when Peter had come to himself, he said, "Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people."

What do you think? Did Peter Count his many blessings, and name them one by one, and did it surprise him in what the Lord had done? The last part of verse 2 says, "And you will be singing as the days go by." Do you think Peter was singing for joy and praising God for his deliverance from jail and death?

Verse 3, "So, amid the conflict, whether great or small, do not be discouraged, God is over all. Count your many blessings, angels will attend, Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end."

In applying this verse to the passage we just read about Peter, notice that "God is over all" and "angels will attend."

Let’s notice a passage in Hebrews that tells us that Jesus Christ, our High Priest, will help us in time of need: Hebrews 4 verse 14, "Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. {15} For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. {16} Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

When we are discourage and feel that all is lost, let’s realize that God and Jesus Christ will help in time of need.

Psalms 50 and verse 14 says: ""Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High." {15} Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me"

Let’s praise, glorify and give thanks to God every day for His blessings.

In Conclusion: "Count your many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise what the Lord hath done."

Feast of Tabernacles

Did God command His people to keep His feasts only to later decide to "do away" with them? Did Christ's atoning death "do away" with the annual Sabbaths? Did Christ come to ABOLISH these so-called "Jewish" feasts and festivals?

At the time of the great fall harvest season, God set His "Feast of Tabernacles." The word "tabernacle" merely means "booth," or "kiosk," a temporary domicile.

"And the Lord spoke unto Moses saying, "Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of the seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord."

"On the first day shall be a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work therein... Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a Sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a Sabbath.

"And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.

"And you shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.

"You shall dwell in booths seven days; all Israelites born shall dwell in booths:

"That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God."

"And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD" (Leviticus 23:33-35, 39-44).

Notice that the Feast of Tabernacles, "booths," was coincident with the time of the gathering in of the fruit of the land - a festival which emphasized the harvest.

Notice also that God said the purpose for their dwelling in these little tabernacles or temporary domiciles for seven days was so that they would remember that God "made the children of Israel to dwell in booths..."

It is only when one looks at all the other relevant scriptures concerning the meaning of dwelling in temporary domiciles; only when one considers the Feast of Tabernacles in light of its logical seasonal progression, viewing it from the perspective of all the other annual Sabbaths, that the rich, detailed, inspiring picture of the meaning of the festival of temporary booths, or tabernacles, becomes clear.

Jesus Kept the Feast of Tabernacles

Let’s notice what the apostle John wrote in his gospel in chapter 7 beginning in verse 2, "Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. {3} His brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. {4} "For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world." {5} For even His brothers did not believe in Him. {6} Then Jesus said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. {7} "The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil. {8} "You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come." {9} When He had said these things to them, He remained in Galilee. {10} But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. {11} Then the Jews sought Him at the feast, and said, "Where is He?" {12} And there was much complaining among the people concerning Him. Some said, "He is good"; others said, "No, on the contrary, He deceives the people." {13} However, no one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews."

Jesus Teaches at the Feast

Continuing in verse 14, "Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught. {15} And the Jews marveled, saying, "How does this Man know letters, having never studied?" {16} Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. {17} "If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. {18} "He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him........ {26} "But look! He speaks boldly, and they say nothing to Him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is truly the Christ? {27} "However, we know where this Man is from; but when the Christ comes, no one knows where He is from." {28} Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, "You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. {29} "But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me." {30} Therefore they sought to take Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come. {31} And many of the people believed in Him, and said, "When the Christ comes, will He do more signs than these which this Man has done?" ...... {37} "On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. {38} "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." {39} But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified."

The Feast of Tabernacles will be Kept in the Millennium After Christ Returns

Zechariah 14 verse 16, "And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. {17} And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain. {18} If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. {19} This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles."
