Mt Carmel Cemetery
Important Upcoming Memorial
Weekend information
The Cemetery will be mowed Wednesday May 22nd or 23 rd depending on weather prior to Memorial weekend . After Memorial Day you will have until June 3 rd Monday by Noon ! to get all your flowers and things off the graves that you want to keep or keep them close near your monument.
The crew will Mow again that 1 st week in June probley 4-5 th when weather allows .. The mowing crew will pick up stuff that will be in their path of mowing if it’s still there so make sure if there’s anything you want you come get by Monday June 3rd Noon!!!
I was reading over all the original Cemetery bylaws and found actual rules and regulations.
Try to keep all your stuff maintained right around your Monument because the rules actually stipulate , some of us have done it and Self included , I didn’t realize you’re not supposed to have it out only so far , a foot beyond the monument. No glass , and If you are planning on planting stuff, you can’t come out very far at all from your Headstones unless you maintain it on a weekly or bi weekly basis . So if you’re gonna put anything that requires watering & regularly maintained beyond the monument that interferes with mowing and trimming, you must maintain it yourself. If it starts looking unruly and grownup around site we will cleanup the site and all the extra wrk for mowing crew cost extra $$$ so be mindful of that .
Shoutout to our new Mowing Service Crew ! S& D Lawncare They are doing an excellent job!!!
Also, we will try to have some people out taking donations if you would prefer to send check at anytime we will have our address or phone number for info you can call , or if you prefer take a check directly to Edward Jones the Flemingsburg Branch for Mt Carmel Cemetery.
With Rising Cost everywhere , it will take approximately 25,000 .00 $ a year for maintenance and upkeep.
If we all pitch in either by donating money or time volunteering we can help keep our community cemetery looking beautiful!
All types of donations are appreciated. We may end up doing a cleanup crew this summer if anybody wants to help with that over a period of a few days or weekends we’d like to work on our building and try to cleanup and restore it to be a functional building. So we welcome any volunteers for that project . It will require several people , from deep cleaning, repairs , Painting, Supplies etc. Reach out to us if you or family and friends would like to volunteer & help !
Also a great Big thanks to those who have already donated and sent money or taken it to Edward Jones , you are much appreciated .. You know who you all are !
Always much appreciated , you guys know it takes a lot of $$$ to keep our community cemetery going . We all have loved ones buried there . As a community we can help preserve it for years after we are Buried. We all want it to look as nice as possible.
Thanks to everyone that had helped , donated , and volunteered in anyway in the past ,it’s much appreciated.
May God bless you all and I hope everyone has a nice Memorial weekend and remember those that Memorial Day was originated for . Our men and women Veterans who never returned from War !!
Thank You !!
