Lots of activity on the church project this week!

We’re excited to see continued progress as God moves us forward in this rebuilding journey.

🌱 The hillside around the new sanctuary site has been hydroseeded, helping stabilize the ground and preparing for future growth.

🪑 The trailer that has safely stored our pews, altar table, and many cherished items since the flood has been unloaded, and the pew restoration project is officially underway. If you look closely at the pews, you can still see the water line left behind when the floodwaters pushed them over. Those marks serve as a powerful reminder of what was lost, God’s faithfulness through it all, and the resilience of this church family as we move forward together.

🔨 The skirting around the picnic shelter has also been removed as work continues around the property.

Every step brings us closer to worshiping in our new home while honoring the history and memories that have shaped our congregation. Thank you for your prayers, support, and encouragement as we continue this journey of restoration and hope.

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” – Psalm 126:3

🎓🌟 BIG CONGRATULATIONS! Join us in celebrating our students who participated in the 2025-26 Dick Miller Youth Leadership Program! A huge round of applause for our graduating seniors who have officially completed this impactful, two-year journey. We are so proud of their dedication to growing as local leaders (L-R): Addison W., Addison D., Claire H., Melody P., Hadley G. and Laci L. ✨

Another shoutout to the six juniors who just wrapped up their very first year of this leadership experience! You’re halfway there, and we can’t wait to see you step up as seniors next year. 🙌

💼 About the Program: Planned and overseen by the Education Committee of the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce, this wonderful program empowers high schoolers to become responsible civic leaders. By diving deep into our local heritage, analyzing current challenges, and exploring future potential, these students are actively preparing to shape the future of our community. 🗺️❤️

Thank you to the Ashe County Chamber for investing so deeply in our youth, and congratulations again to all of our outstanding student leaders! 👏 – with Ashe County High School and Ashe Early College

Today, another piece of our future was set in place as the footers for our new sanctuary were poured.

One of the most special moments of this process happened as the concrete was poured. A Bible was placed in the cornerstone of the church—a reminder that the foundation of this building is not concrete or steel, but God's Word.

Over the past several weeks, members of our church family have highlighted meaningful Scriptures and written notes, prayers, and reflections in its pages. Our youth group gathered together to mark verses that are especially important to them as well, leaving their own testimony of faith for generations to come.

While this Bible will remain in the cornerstone, a copy will be placed in the new sanctuary as a lasting connection between what has been built before us and what God is building through us now.

"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain." — Psalm 127:1

Today we celebrate not just a construction milestone, but a powerful reminder of the faith, prayers, and promises upon which our church stands. We are grateful to be part of this chapter and excited to see what God has in store.
