Worship With Us!
14th Sunday After Pentecost
Aug. 30 at 10 a.m.

Join us tomorrow at 10 a.m. for worship in the sanctuary. We’ll be singing beloved hymns including “Holy, Holy, Holy.” The sanctuary is air conditioned, and a nursery room is available to take youngsters who need a break from the service. Activity bags in the narthex will give kids something to do in the pews as well.

Scripture readings:

- Exodus 3:1-15 - Moses encounters the burning bush.
- Romans 12:9-21 - Paul’s letter urges the Romans to turn theological belief into daily practice.
- Matthew 16:21-28 - Jesus foretells his death and resurrection to the disciples.

Pastor Rose will deliver the children’s message and the sermon.

Reading-Berks CROP Hunger Walk
Fundraiser at Isaac’s on Thurs., August 27

Isaac’s restaurant in Spring Ridge is donating 15% of all dine-in, takeout and catering toward the fall CROP Hunger Walk. They’ll be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thurs. the 27th at 94 Commerce Drive, Wyomissing, along Broadcasting Road.

Online orders: Type “Fundraiser” in the box on the payment page.
Takeout orders: Tell Isaac’s team member that you’re part of the fundraiser when you order.

Our church has participated in the CROP Walk for decades. The CROP Walk is an initiative of Church World Service. That faith-based organization, in which the United Church of Christ participates, provides just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster around the world.

After a CROP Hunger Walk ends, 25% of the funds raised come back to help people in our own region.
